About MAX
My name is Bianca Maxwell, and I’m 40 years old, originally from South Africa. Growing up in an English-speaking household, I took it upon myself to learn Afrikaans, and I now speak, read, and write it fluently. While I don’t have a formal teaching degree, I’ve successfully helped my two high school boys excel in both English and Afrikaans, consistently achieving grades between 80% and 90%. I also provide private tutoring to their friends, who need extra support in language subjects, helping them overcome challenges and boost their confidence in these areas.

Methodology and What Makes Me Unique as a Teacher:
As an English tutor, I prioritize building a strong connection with my students, creating a comfortable and engaging learning environment. My teaching approach is highly personalized, focusing on the individual’s learning pace, strengths, and goals. I don't do Webcam as a lot of students struggle to communicate face to face. So I make it comfortable for them to send me emails and "vice versa." I incorporate real-life examples and interactive activities, making learning enjoyable and relevant. I also believe in a growth mindset, encouraging students to make mistakes and learn from them without fear. My unique combination of patience, creativity, and adaptability allows me to tailor lessons to each student's specific needs and preferences.

No Webcam Sessions: I do not offer webcam lessons. All communication is done via email, where I can give you written guidance and corrections at your own pace. This is especially effective for language learning, where written feedback can help you improve your grammar, spelling, and comprehension.
Affordable Rates: By offering email-based lessons, I can keep my rates lower than live video sessions. This method is perfect for students who prefer flexible, self-paced learning while still receiving personalized support.
