About Ruby
I am an experienced Physics tutor with a Master’s degree in Physics and 7 years of teaching experience. I work with GCSE, A-Level, and university students, providing personalised lessons designed around their individual goals, current understanding, and learning pace.
Over the course of my teaching career, I have helped students strengthen their theoretical knowledge, improve mathematical problem-solving, and prepare more effectively for examinations. I focus on explaining physics in a clear and logical way, making even complex subjects easier to approach.
My areas of teaching include mechanics, forces and motion, energy, momentum, electricity, circuits, waves, thermodynamics, fields, electromagnetism, atomic and nuclear physics, quantum physics, and other syllabus-specific topics.
I understand that students may struggle with physics for different reasons. Some need stronger foundations, while others understand the theory but find it difficult to apply their knowledge to exam questions. My lessons are therefore flexible and targeted towards your specific needs.
I encourage students to participate actively, ask questions, and learn through guided problem-solving. Alongside subject knowledge, I help develop accuracy, logical thinking, and exam confidence.

My physics tutoring is centred around one simple principle: understanding comes before memorisation. I help GCSE, A-Level, and university students develop a strong grasp of physics while building the skills required to solve unfamiliar problems confidently.
Lessons are fully adaptable. If you are finding a particular chapter difficult, we can slow things down and rebuild your understanding from the basics. If you are already confident with the fundamentals, we can move towards more challenging applications and examination-style questions.
Depending on your course and objectives, we can study mechanics, motion, forces, energy, electricity, circuits, waves, fields, electromagnetism, thermal physics, nuclear processes, particle physics, quantum mechanics, and related topics.
I use step-by-step explanations, visual examples, mathematical demonstrations, and carefully selected questions to make abstract concepts easier to grasp. You will also have opportunities to explain your reasoning and identify mistakes, helping you become a more independent learner.
For students preparing for assessments, I can incorporate past papers and timed exercises into lessons. We can examine how questions are structured, how marks are awarded, and how to present answers effectively.
