The starting point in my teaching methodology is to ensure that I meet the needs and expectations of a student. I basically adapt the communicative method to allow students to use the language in real-life situations. In teaching grammatical concepts, the inductive method of reasoning is used. Students learn the language by observing specific incidents of language use. Thereafter, students are given an opportunity to immediately practice the specific concepts learned through a variety of activities (e.g. role play, dialogue, report, written exercises, etc.). The use of authentic documents is preferred (newspapers, movies, etc.).
