Find out more about Ronit

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Growing up I was encouraged by my instructors to learn how to play the drums and once I got the hang of it, I realized I could not stop. As time went by it became my source of income, it has helped me grow not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well. It has paved a way for me to achieve my dreams whilst doing what I love.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My mother - She always encouraged me and supported me to follow my dreams despite the unconventional path I wanted to cross. Despite all her fears and worries about the difficult struggles a musician will have to face in the first few years of working, she was and will always be my number 1 cheerleader.
  • How does your work help society?

I find music in everything, I believe music is medicine for the soul- I like to think that my music helps a crying child calm down, or a bored passenger on a plane be entertained, or a depressed individual who just needs to get away.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

Gavin Harrison is hands down my role model. He is a legend and creative beyond measure. His music inspires me to be a better musician every day.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Aside from teaching music, I love to produce music. It is my dream to work with well-known artists and produce something with them that will change the lives of many.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

I don't know about an anecdote but I do have a piece of advice for those of you who fear taking the tough path for their dreams. I promise you it is always worth it. Despite all the struggles, discouragements, and failures you'll face along the way, doing what you love will always pay off and be fulfilling. Let's work towards having a wealthier soul and mental capacity through the things we're passionate about.
