About George
About me: I’m a singer-songwriter looking to help you exceed your goals. I started learning guitar in 2008 at the Old Town School of Folk music in Chicago’s Lincoln Square. I’ve been singing for over two decades and have performed in venues around Chicago. Whether you’re just starting out or coming back from a break, I’m here when you’re ready to take the next steps.

Together we’ll get your acoustic guitar, vocal skills, and songwriting from the cellar to the kitchen and get you performing your favorite songs in no time.
What we can do together:
- Learn basic chords to get started
- Tackle barre chords
- Impress others with a song
- Get ready for an open Mic
- Write your first song
- Get feedback and suggestions on songs you are working on
Lesson Plans:
We’ll map out goals together based on your needs and starting level. We’ll use a “whole, part, whole” approach where we’ll look at the song or skill you want to work on first (you’ll play your song if you can), then we’ll smooth out the biggest issues you’re having, followed by moving forward toward your goal. Lastly we’ll play the song again and identify our greatest improvements and potential practice items you can do between lessons to maximize improvement.
For Singing and or Guitar:
- Discuss lesson plan
- Quick warm up
- Whole (play or listen to the song we want to perform)
- Part: Skills (build the necessary vocal, guitar or performance skills)
- Whole (play or listen to the song again to make a plan of action)
For Songwriting we can work on:
- Writing exercises
- Chord progressions
- Basic Music Theory
- Song Structure
- Conveying the emotion of your song
- How to promote and capture those inspired feelings
