About Alan
I am from Ireland, now based in Spain. I started DJing house and techno 29 years ago. This sparked my passion for music-making. I have been on that path ever since, making music for myself and helping others do the same. My passion for all things audio production has led me to work as a sound engineer and sound designer in areas such as music, commercials, podcasts, documentaries, and short films.
I have a Master's Degree in Music Technology and have taught countless students privately, and also at University, Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology, when I lived in Berlin. I am an Avid Pro Tools certified instructor, I have been using Ableton Live for 17 years.

I teach a practice-based approach. Prior to classes beginning we discuss your goals. Classes are taught through the production of your music. Based on these classes we will take time out from music-making to focus on techniques, tools, and approaches that will advance your skills. Software used can be Pro Tools or Ableton Live.

Alan is one of the cleverest people I know and has worked with me as a sound engineer, music producer, mastering engineer and educator since the late 90s. He is passionate about music, music technology and the art of audio recording and sound design.
