About Emily
Hi, I'm Emily and I love all things to do with literature and books! As someone who didn't always enjoy English, however, I understand the struggle of excelling in something you don't enjoy. For me, a passionate teacher taught me the beauty of literature and I would love to offer the same thing to anyone struggling with reading, writing, or literature in general.
I am currently specialising in Georgian and Victorian Literature, although I equally enjoy the works of Shakespeare, Woolf, and more contemporary writers.
As a first-generation university student, I believe in affordable and flexible tutoring (which is why I am based online!)

I offer online tutoring for students in Primary and Secondary school and offer help in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and comprehension, and literature. I also offer help with those doing their A-Levels who need help with English Language, Literature, or Sociology.
I believe strongly in giving students a love for what they do and in giving students the tools for independent study. I'm always happy to show students a variety of study methods and techniques, as well as do what works best for them. I believe that tutoring should be affordable and flexible, as I understand that parents and students often have a variety of life commitments which can make it hard to fit tutoring in!
I'm happy to do anywhere between 1-3 hours, depending on the age of student and what works for them. I have a very flexible schedule. Hours, dates, and times are always negotiable.
At GCSE I received a 9 in Literature, and an 8 in English Language.
At A-Level I received an AAB in English Literature, English Language, and Sociology.
I currently attend the University of Exeter for English (Literature) and I love to learn more about my subject, particularly alongside my students
