About Basit
About me I am a School Dux and a University of Melbourne scholarship recipient with strong results in Math and Science. I have a genuine interest in learning and in helping students understand subjects that often feel confusing or overwhelming. I want to teach because I know that many students struggle not due to lack of ability, but because concepts are not explained clearly or at the right pace. My goal is to make learning feel manageable and structured, while building confidence through steady improvement. I take tutoring seriously and prepare lessons carefully based on each student’s level and needs. I am patient, organized, and focused on helping students develop strong foundations rather than rushing through content. I aim to create a supportive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. With the right guidance and effort, improvement is always possible.

Hi there!
My tutoring focuses on clarity, structure, and confidence. I break concepts down step by step, identify gaps early, and make sure students actually understand why something works rather than memorising procedures. This builds long-term improvement, not short-term cramming.
I use:
• clear explanations with worked examples
• guided practice followed by independent questions
• regular checking of understanding and targeted revision
• exam-style and school-aligned questions to reinforce learning
Lessons are interactive, not lectures. Students are encouraged to ask questions and explain ideas back to me so misconceptions are caught immediately.
Lesson structure and length
Lessons run for 60 minutes, which allows time for explanation, practice, and feedback without overwhelming the student. For younger primary students, sessions can be adjusted to suit attention span and learning pace.
Students or Parents are to send their material provided by their school or their own material that they need help with. If this is not available, help can still be provided with my own resources on the overall topic while still aiming to fix weak concepts and building skill
Qualifications and experience
I am the School Dux (Highest Academic Achievement Award) for my college and achieved Raw 40+ results, and I am a University of Melbourne scholarship recipient. I have a strong academic background in Maths and Science and understand both the curriculum requirements and what high performance actually looks like.
