About Sam
I'm a UCL student who has received straight A*s at GCSE and all As at A level. I've had lots of experience in teaching and the class environment having taught at a primary and a school for special needs students.
During my time in second year at UCL I have also been a transition mentor. This means I have a group of first year students on my degree and help them through the year which involves helping them academically and teaching them any concepts they are having issues with. I've also been one of the two people on my degree to be promoted to senior transition mentor too.
People consider me outgoing, patient and easy to talk to. I've also been told I'm good at breaking down complex topics

I'm able to give lessons up to an A2-level standard in Chemistry, Biology and English Literature (depending on the books/ course) and up to an AS level standard in Maths. I will plan out the lesson and will initially start by breaking down the topic and guide them through questions. I'm a strong believer in active learning and ensuring a student is not just passively listening along. The best way to learn is by doing so. I believe doing questions and helping them through these is key.
Specifically for topics relating to a specific exam board I believe the best thing to do is go through the syllabus and later examiners reports to ensure everything is covered.
