About Raiyaan
I'm Raiyaan, a second-year Medical student at University College London (UCL) and a former pupil at St Paul's School, Barnes. I've always loved the sciences, and getting into medicine took a lot of hard work — so I understand first-hand how challenging GCSEs, the UCAT and the whole application process can feel.
That's exactly why I tutor. I remember how much difference a patient, encouraging tutor made to me, and I want to be that person for other students. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a concept finally "click" and watching a student's confidence grow along with their grades.
I'm friendly, reliable and genuinely invested in each student I work with. I take the time to understand how someone learns, adapt to their pace, and make sessions feel supportive rather than stressful. Whether a student is struggling and needs to catch up, or already doing well and aiming for top marks, I'll meet them where they are and help them get to where they want to be.

I'm a second-year Medical student at UCL and a former St Paul's School pupil, offering friendly, tailored 1-to-1 tutoring in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, plus UCAT preparation and medical school application advice.
Having recently sat my own GCSEs, UCAT and medical school interviews, I know exactly what examiners look for. My lessons focus as much on building genuine confidence as on the content itself. I start by identifying where a student is struggling, then break tricky concepts down into clear, manageable steps, using plenty of practice questions and exam techniques to make sure the understanding actually sticks.
Sessions are typically one hour and fully tailored to each student's pace, target grades and learning style — whether they're aiming to catch up, push for top marks, or prepare for a specific exam. I'm patient, approachable and enhanced-DBS checked, and I welcome students of all abilities. Lessons are available online, with flexible evening and weekend slots.

I met Raiyaan at a wedding, which funnily enough is from his profile picture. I asked him for maths tutoring for me and my two brothers as we were all struggling heavily with the more complex topics. What I found to be the best part of his teaching strategy was how he could easily break things down to first principles and show us how to really understand it like he does (unfortunately it’s hard to be as clever as him lol but he helped out a lot). I would strongly recommend Raiyaan as a tutor for anyone looking for maths work as he puts a lot of effort into it and it shows. 🫱🏿🫲🏻
