About Phoebe
I have always enjoyed maths and science especially learning about the brain which is why I am now studying neuroscience at a top university. I struggled in highschool but through understanding the science behind learning I created very effective revision strategies which helped me get the grades I needed. Therefore I believe that with the right approach you can be good at anything. I loved tutoring at my local highschool and it gave me great pride I was to watch my students progress and get the grades they deserved.

I have experience in both remote teaching via zoom and in person teaching. I have found that the single biggest problem students face is having confidence in themselves. Many students find maths and science really scary and believe that they just cannot do it. So I focus on creating a calm and positive workspace where students are able see their own potential and become more confident. My teaching involves lots of visual aid, practice equations and recall. I also teach students how to revise effectively to get the most out of their study time. I have experience teaching year 11s, however I am open to tutor all highschool ages and A-level students. I am most happy giving 1 hour lessons as I believe longer lessons can lead to burnout making them less effective.
