About Josh
I am a high achieving Natural Sciences (2:1) graduate from UEA, with a broad interest in biological sciences, organic chemistry and pharmacology. I have also achieved a Distinction grade while studying a Postgraduate Certificate in Biomedical Science at London Metropolitan University. The topics I studied included molecular biology, genetics, toxicology and pharmacology.
I have coached multiple coursemates during my degree, and I train my colleagues as part of my role in the NHS. I am currently training as a biomedical scientist and will qualify in the next 6 months. As part of my employment conditions in the NHS, I have also undergone an enhanced DBS check.
My approach is to first understand what your specific knowledge requirements are and then your current level of understanding. From there, we can mutually agree specific subject areas that need further development. Once those areas are covered, we will then apply your new knowledge to answering past papers from your exam board. I will be likely to assign useful videos to watch and questions to complete in advance of each lesson.
We will go at the pace that best suits you and I will take the time needed to ensure you understand each topic before we move on.

I have coached fellow students while studying my degree and while studying my Postgraduate Certificate in Biomedical Science. The coaching was mainly discussing a specific topic such as a reaction pathway, then working through exam papers to understand what the requirements of the exam board were.
My style of teaching is more visual, using diagrams and videos to teach, before seeking to apply the knowledge to completing questions for past papers.
I am comfortable teaching Biology and Chemistry to an A level standard. I offer the first lesson for free to understand a student's current level of understanding and what their specific subject requirements are. We will then mutually decide what to cover in the next lesson, usually within 48 hours.
I will need to know in advance what exam board is examining the student so I can read the past papers and requirements, and would appreciate some details of what subjects they wish to cover before the first lesson. Knowing which textbook they are using would also be appreciated.
I anticipate each lesson will be 1 hour in length. After the first free lesson, I charge a rate of £25 per hour. It is also possible to get a discount from booking blocks of 5-10 lessons at a time. Please note that if booking blocks of lessons, a 50% deposit will be required.
