As a student, I was initially hesitant to seek academic help, believing that I was expected to already understand the material on my own. This mindset contributed to challenges during the early part of my college career. Over time, I realized that getting academic help is both normal and encouraged, and that educators genuinely want students to succeed. Today, teachers are often spread thin and it can be difficult to meet the individual needs of every student. Because each student learns in different ways, it is important for them to understand that is normal. I hope to support students by helping tailor learning approaches that best meet their individual needs.
