About Avani
Hey! I’m a Biomedical Sciences student at UT Dallas on the pre-med track, with a strong academic background in mathematics and science. I recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, where I studied higher-level Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and developed strong problem-solving, analytical, and study skills. Beyond academics, I’ve had experience teaching and working with younger students. Through my school’s Biology Club, I helped organize and lead activities designed to make biology engaging and easier to understand. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach Biology to younger students, which taught me how important patience, clear explanations, and adapting to different learning styles are.
As someone who has recently been a student myself, I understand that sometimes a subject feels difficult simply because it hasn’t been explained in the right way yet. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. My goal is to provide structured, personalized lessons that strengthen academic foundations while building confidence and independent problem-solving skills. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for a test, completing homework, or getting ahead, I’m committed to making every lesson productive, supportive, and engaging.

My Approach to Teaching
I believe that every student can understand math and chemistry when the concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them. My goal is to help students understand how and why something works, making them feel confident enough to solve problems on their own.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
Breaking concepts into simple, manageable steps and using real-life examples makes topics easier to understand. My students and I work through problems together before trying them independently. They're always encouraged to ask questions and explain their thought process for a particular problem.
A typical lesson involves a quick review of the concepts, deeper explanation using real-life examples, solving problems step-by-step and identifying any areas of difficulty, letting students think independently and ask for help whenever needed.
What Sets Me Apart
As a student myself, I understand how confusing a topic can feel when it's explained too quickly or in a way that doesn't click. I like to focus on creating an environment for my students where they aren't afraid to make mistakes or ask questions. I want my students to leave each lesson not only knowing how to solve a problem but understanding why and how they solved it, helping them feel more confident in the subject.

My tutoring is designed for middle school or high school students who need extra support, want to strengthen their foundations, or simply want more practice in algebra, pre-algebra, and chemistry.
