About Laban
I have always had a natural passion for helping others and a curiosity for the world. I like to think that the knowledge and experience I have to impart to students comes from this explorative side of me. My inherent desire to learn has certainly helped me to continuously excel in my academic career. I want to give students this same thirst for knowledge that can propel them to success in school and many other aspects of their lives. I hope to be a reliable and trustworthy figure in my students' lives and instill in them both knowledge and confidence.

I come from a family of teachers and I’ve always been quick to help friends and family with their learning growing up. Now in college, I've continued to help my friends study and have experience as an LA (Learning Assistant) working in classes I've taken to teach younger students the same material.
I have a primary focus on tutoring subjects relating to science and math from high school to first-year university level including Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, Pre-Calc, and Calculus, however, I also offer services for SAT and ACT tutoring.
I like to think of my teaching style as versatile, aiming to help students formulate their own understanding of a concept so they can truly internalize each topic we go over. I always go into a lesson with an open mind believing that I can learn as much from the students as I can teach them. I like to encourage anyone I tutor to explore their thoughts and reasoning while offering support when needed. I can promise that as a tutor, each lesson will be designed to give students beyond a superficial understanding of the subjects, challenging students to grasp key features of the material.
