As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment tailored to each student’s needs. I use scaffolded learning, modeling, and guided practice to build understanding and confidence. For elementary students, I make learning fun with hands-on activities and relatable examples, always celebrating their progress to keep them motivated. I start with a quick review to reinforce previous material, introduce new concepts with clear examples, and guide students through practice before encouraging independent work. For reading, I include phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension activities suited to their level and goals. My experience with CUNY Reading Corps has given me specialized training in literacy techniques and the ability to connect with young learners. I adapt to different learning styles, creating a positive, patient, and engaging experience. My lessons are for elementary school students, especially those needing support in reading or foundational skills. I work to help them succeed academically while fostering a love of learning.
