Ungraduate music student offering singing lessons, music theory and beginners piano, tutoring online

Methodology

I recognise that every student is different and learn to adapt based on the student's needs. I believe that every child should have the opportunity to a good music education, as music really moulds you into an all-round student, helping you become diligent through practicing, a capable performer and you always get the opportunity to learn a new language - music! I studied A Level and GCSE German and so I am also very happy to teach beginners German!

Experience

I am currently a third year Music undergraduate student at Royal Holloway, University of London. I received as A* at GCSE, A at A Level, as well as Grade 6 piano, Grade 8 (with distinction) in singing and Grade 5 music theory. I also studied a Choral Conducting module at university last year, so I am familiar with how to lead a lesson, and I am currently studying Music Pedagogy as one of my modules this year

I met India when she was general manager for our choir at Royal Holloway. She did such a fantastic job getting the choir to work together and bring out the best in every member. India is a great tutor because she is so approachable, always willing to go the extra mile and extremely encouraging.

India is a wonderful teacher, having experience in both the amateur and professional world. Her passion for musical theater combines great knowledge of acting, voice, and dramaturgy.

Having known India for a couple of years as we attend the same university I can safely say that she is a very hardworking and persevering student. She commits to her role as an academic student but also to her extra curricular like leading student led ensembles at university and being a talented musician. This proves that she can multitask but also overcome various challenges thus I would recommend her as a tutor.

Very happy to recommend India. She’s kind and thoughtful and always putter other people’s needs before her own. She is also extremely talented which can be see from her previous experiences in musical theatre and choir which has led her to perform in some amazing productions and places.

India is hard-working and approachable; a natural leader. As general manager of our university choir, she was always quick to distribute relevant information, deal with any arising issues, and worked hard to make everybody feel welcome and valued. She also used her musical talents to set a great example for the other singers.

Jenny

India is greatly competent and has good leadership skills, she was general manager for a choir I was in and I have worked with her on multiple occasions for projects related to music. On top of this she is a genuinely lovely and patient person, greatly suited to tutoring others.

India was general manager for the Jane Holloway choir last year and was consistently committed to the organisation of the choir both during the year and during the national lockdown, when she organised for us to perform virtually by editing our singular videos together.
India was also very encouraging and helpful when anybody had a problem or needed assistance. She has been very understanding personally with my mental health issues which occasionally caused me to miss rehearsals.
Furthermore, India is an extremely talented musician, and I have the utmost faith that this will be passed on to each of her students.
