About Lorraine
I have long loved education and have been passionate in its pursuit. In 2004 after completing my Matric, I studied child care and Au-pairing at the SWGC. After completion of my course I spent 4 weeks in Mozambique on outreach and spent most of my time teaching the children life skills. Upon my return I decided to enroll for my B.ED. in this time I taught for a term at Transoranje School for the Deaf and completed my level 2 SASL. In my 4th year I was hired by a local public school and worked for the GDE for 8 years. I am now an independent educator wishing to broaden the reach and access of language education as I find literacy of fundamental value in our liberation as individuals and as societies.

Lessons will largely depend on each individual's needs, starting with basic English and assessing the command level of the student. An individual learning plan can be discussed as part of the free session to assess areas of difficulty and to work towards improving them. Examination and assessment preparation also available. Experience with GDE and IEB curriculum. I am able to speak Afrikaans and English at university level, with conversational isiZulu at Gr2 level and limited SASL.

Progress reports of lessons included after every 10 lessons. **** SPECIAL RATES for school students**** R150 p/h for extra lessons in line with core curriculum content and academic assessments. Progress report for learners is solely based on lessons with me and does not replace school reports or assessments
