About Mukaila

I hold an MSc in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Jos, Nigeria, and am currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in Chemistry with Science at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. My academic background combines a strong foundation in biochemistry and the sciences with professional training in teaching and learning.

With over 12 years of tutoring experience, I established my own tutoring business to help students develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts, build confidence and achieve their academic goals. Throughout my teaching journey, I have supported learners with different abilities, learning needs and academic challenges, adapting my teaching methods to make complex topics more accessible and engaging.

My teaching philosophy is centred on creating a supportive, inclusive and student-centred learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding at their own pace. I aim to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, independent learning and problem-solving skills while helping students overcome difficulties and develop a positive attitude towards learning. I am passionate about making Chemistry and other scientific subjects easier to understand through clear explanations, practical examples and structured learning activities, enabling students to become more confident and independent learners.

About the lesson

I adopt a supportive, inclusive and learner-centred approach to teaching, recognising the importance of creating a positive and emotionally safe learning environment. I believe students learn most effectively when they feel comfortable, valued and confident to participate, particularly those who may have previously experienced difficulties, stress or anxiety in their learning. My approach aims to build students’ confidence, encourage active participation and promote meaningful learning.
