I think I am best suited to GSCE or A Level students studying English literature. Studying English can be so much more than just an academic subject- I would seek to bring student’s outside interests in the world of literature into the classroom as it is a passion of mine. Having done A Levels recently, I know examiners seek individuality and an interesting perspective. I believe the way to foster these skills would be a focus on critically examining texts and linking core subject material to other works.
I am currently a student at the University of St Andrews, studying languages and International Relations. I excelled at A Level English at school and even though it’s not my degree, I have an excellent command of the English language which allows me to write essays for one of the UK’s top universities. In addition I work with literature on a daily basis as part of my degree (albeit in a different language!).
