About Sheila
I am currently in my fourth year at York University studying English and Education. I've excelled in my reading, writing, and presentation skills throughout high school and University. I am a mentor at a Non profit organization called Peace by Peace which has given me classroom experience teaching elementary school students where they learn about conflict & resolution, bullying, violence in schools/homes, and communities through activities, lessons, and discussions.

I never baby my students; however, I never make them feel inferior or too afraid to ask questions. I emphasize that asking questions (factual or interpretative) is an essential tool in learning. I always make sure that my students understand concepts before I move on, and they will never feel bad if they do not understand. I do my best to incorporate different teaching methods that may suit my students the best (visuals, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.)
