About Zavian

As a Math, Statistics, and Computer Science major at the University of Florida, I’ve completed over 600 one-on-one tutoring sessions with high school and college students across a wide range of STEM subjects. My tutoring specialties include Algebra, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC (Calculus I & II), Statistics, and programming in C++, Python and R.
My approach is results-driven but student-centered. I start by assessing the student’s current understanding and identifying knowledge gaps. From there, I create personalized lesson plans that blend theory, practice problems, and guided walkthroughs. I focus on building deep conceptual understanding—not just memorization—so that students feel confident applying what they learn to new problems.
A typical session involves reviewing recent material, solving practice problems together, and identifying strategies to approach homework or exam questions more effectively. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning preferences—whether they need a step-by-step breakdown, visual aids, or real-world examples to connect abstract concepts.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex topics clearly and patiently and casually in such a way that students are very comfortable. My students consistently tell me they feel more confident and less anxious about math after working with me.
