My teaching methods vary depending on student needs. For written work in the Humanities & Social Sciences (Media & Communications, Sound Studies, Sociology, Criminology, Visual Culture, Photography, Documentary, Photojournalism), emphasis on setting discussion points relevant to discipline and assessment task, minding core themes and theories. This includes strategies for their effective use, application and synthesis in relation to topic explored. Keeping to academic conventions in writing and Harvard Referencing.
I’ve 15 years experience as a lecturer at the University of Arts London in the Media School (London College of Communication), 10 years at London Metropolitan University, and various temporary contracts in further and higher education (HE). This follows from completing a teaching qualification (HE) in 2005, and an honours BA then Masters in the fields of Communication and Cultural Studies in 2004.
