About Luis
I hold a First-Class MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and am now a PhD Researcher working across Artificial Intelligence and Engineering. My degree covered engineering mathematics, mechanics and thermofluids through to advanced dynamics, nonlinear mechanics, CFD, optimisation and numerical simulation.

How I teach
Engineering problems often combine physical understanding, mathematics and modelling. I break the problem into these components and work through the reasoning step by step.
The emphasis is on understanding:
why a method works;
what assumptions it makes;
when it should be used;
how to approach unfamiliar problems independently.
Lessons can be based around lecture material, tutorial sheets, worked examples, practice questions and past papers. Relevant material can be sent beforehand.
