About Gabriel
Hello,
My name is Gabriel (friends call me Gabe), I am 26 years old, and I graduated from Nottingham in 2019 with a first in Mathematics and Statistics.
After a year of working an office job where I didn't feel very motivated, I have decided that maths tutoring might be my calling. I have had a passion for Mathematics and numbers throughout my life so far, and I hope that it remains. I won't bore you with the details, but I have done a fair bit of teaching in my own time throughout my education. For me, there is an immense feeling of pleasure and purpose when I manage to instil understanding of certain concepts within someone else. I hope that I can work hard to help a lot of people gain a better comprehension of Mathematics, and more importantly allow them to enjoy the subject.
My current style of teaching is to ask what topics a student would like to work on, analyse their general understanding of the specific topics in question, and then focus on the parts they find difficult. I try to share useful methods for solving problems, and go back to the basics where I feel it is necessary. In my opinion, some topics are not introduced in the best way in many public schools and I hope that I can provide a different perspective on things. One final thing I will say about my teaching which is possibly the aspect I strive for the most, is that I want it to be an enjoyable experience for both me and the student involved. I truly believe that having fun produces motivation and desire to study, and hate the concept of having to suffer through subjects you don't enjoy just because not getting a good grade might punish you in the future.
I'd like to say a quick thing about payment. It seems that I can only set two hourly rates on my profile, one for in person and one for online. Please know that the hourly rate is negotiable though, even though I have a bunch of teaching under my belt I am probably not as experienced as many other tutors on here. As much as I hope I can do a better job than them, this may not be the case and I would like my clients to get their money's worth. Please do give me a chance, I actually hope tutoring is something I'd be willing to do without being paid but of course we all need to make a living somehow.
Please feel free to contact me directly via Whatsapp (my number is (concealed information)7) if you have any specific questions or simply want to get to know me better, I feel that there are limitations to bios because they tend to be very generalised. I am more than happy to have a proper consultation.
Thanks for putting in the time to read my bio, I hope to hear from you.
Gabe.

Maths teacher from London, three years in teaching. In my experience, I have managed to quickly build a fantastic rapport with the majority of my students and enhance their learning greatly. I mostly try to teach by example, adjusting difficulty as I feel appropriate to make sure my students are challenged the correct amount.
