About Joshua
Hi! I'm Joshua, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a strong passion for history, government, and political science.
Beyond my academic background, I have professional experience working in American politics, including managing political campaigns and working directly with political organizations. This experience has given me a unique perspective on how government, elections, and political institutions function beyond what is taught in textbooks.
I've always been fascinated by history and the ways historical events shape modern societies. I particularly enjoy exploring American history, world history, international relations, political philosophy, and the development of democratic institutions.
As a tutor, I aim to create a welcoming, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring different perspectives, and developing their own understanding of complex subjects.
Whether you're looking to improve your grades, prepare for an important exam, or simply expand your knowledge, I'm committed to helping you succeed. I believe learning should be both intellectually stimulating and enjoyable, and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for these subjects with you!

I believe that history and politics are much more than memorizing dates, names, and events. They're about understanding how the world works, why societies develop the way they do, and how decisions made in the past continue to shape our lives today.
I offer personalized tutoring in **American History, World History, Government, and Political Science**, with lessons tailored to each student's academic level, interests, and goals.
**My Teaching Approach**
My lessons emphasize understanding, critical thinking, and engaging discussions rather than rote memorization. I believe students learn best when they can connect historical events and political concepts to real-world situations.
A typical lesson may include:
- Clear explanations of important historical events, political systems, and government institutions.
- Discussions that encourage students to think critically and consider different perspectives.
- Real-world examples that connect classroom material to current events.
- Practice questions, study guides, and exam preparation.
- Personalized instruction based on each student's strengths and areas for improvement.
**What Sets Me Apart?**
I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with professional experience working in politics and managing political campaigns. My background provides me with firsthand knowledge of elections, government, political strategy, and the American political system.
I bring this practical experience into my lessons, helping students understand not only how government and political institutions are supposed to function, but also how they operate in practice.
**Who Are My Lessons For?**
I work with middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students, as well as adults interested in expanding their knowledge of history and politics.
Whether you're preparing for AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP U.S. Government and Politics, a college exam, or simply want to better understand historical events and political institutions, I can help.
My goal is to make history and politics interesting, accessible, and intellectually rewarding while helping every student develop confidence in their knowledge and analytical abilities.
