To begin, the course syllabus will be reviewed with the student to establish the particular areas in which the student is struggling. Upon identifying the areas of difficulty, the material will be discussed with the student and explained using methods that are suitable to their learning style, whether it be visual, using mnemonics, analogies etc. Practice questions will then be used to reinforce the understood material, where initially the student will be assisted in solving the problems, then will later be allowed to solve them independently. Areas in which the student has a stronger understanding of the course material will be focused on less, albeit still reviewed from time to time to ensure that understanding remains. The goal of my method is to first ensure the student understands the content, then proceed to apply and fortify the content via practice problems.
I have tutored over ten students in the past three years, all of which were taking either the International Baccalaureate, A-Levels, the high school diploma, or were in secondary school. The students I have tutored have gone on to perform above the national average, some even graduating to the 90th-percentile from their initial grade average.
2 years ago when I started the IB diploma, I was struggling with Chemistry and Maths. Thanks to Frances I managed to pass my classes.
She has patience and explains in depth the subject, her teacher methods were good when she tutored me.
Even when we weren't able to see each other she would send me videos to explain the exercises I didn't understand.
She keeps pushing you to do your best.
I strongly recommend her!!
