About EMMA
Textbook Chinese won't get you far in South China.
I teach what people in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong actually say.
Two kinds of students end up in my classes.
The professional. You're working with Chinese clients, suppliers, or a team, and you need to sound like you belong in the room, not like you Googled it before the call. Before teaching, I spent five years inside Chinese companies: a major fashion group and a gaming studio. I've been in those meetings. I know what people say when the PowerPoint is off and the real conversation starts.
The talker. You don't need Chinese for work;
you just want to actually use it. Pop culture, current slang, what's trending on Douyin, how people in Guangzhou talk to each other day to day. That's the other half of what I do, and it's where lessons get interesting.

Then I teach. A real lesson built around what you just told me, with materials I put together for your specific situation. Not a demo.
By the end you'll know what working together actually looks like: what we'd cover, how fast you'd move, and whether this is the right fit.
