Learn from an instructor with over 20 years of performance experience in traditional Chinese woodwinds, specializing in the Dizi and Xiao. My musical expertise spans a wide range of genres, allowing me to tailor our lessons to your specific interests and goals. We can explore the elegant, classical "scholar-artist" tradition of Kunqu, dive into modern Chinese pop and folk fusion, or even work on adapting the unique voice of the bamboo flute to western melodies and scales.
In our sessions, we will cover everything from the delicate art from dimo (membrane) application and breath control to advanced ornamentation and diverse repertoire. Whether you are a complete beginner or an intermediate player looking to refine your craft, I offer a professional and supportive environment designed to help you find your unique musical voice across any style you choose to play.
