About Ikram
I am a positive person who loves teaching. I believe that children do need love to be able to achieve their academic goals. I like to teach with care as one of the important findings of my PhD research was the need for more care and love in education.
I see myself as humble and kind as my biggest goal of teaching is to make children who want to learn Arabic / how to read Quran feel comfortable and confident.
I enjoy teaching as it allows me to meet/know new people, especially children. I am very interested as a teacher and researcher to explore the world of children in relation to education.

I am a doctor in education. At the time of doing my PhD course in the UK, I taught Arabic and Quran at the Canterbury mosque for three years.
My approach relies on gentle teaching techniques to allow children to feel more comfortable when learning. Most of my students and their parents (if not all) seem to be happy with this way of teaching. The latter proved to be successful as many children who struggled with learning Arabic showed improvement. Gentle teaching highlights the importance of feeling safe, loved, loving and engaged. This way, children are prepared mentally and emotionally to deal with one of the difficult languages of the world.
I offer a personalised course with the help of parents. Each child is taught the skills they need depending on what parents/children want.
I teach once to twice a week depending on the parents' preference. A lesson is one to two hours long depending on the child's age and level.
I teach young learners and teenagers (from around 5 to 16).
