About Ben
I’m Ben. I’m a Vanderbilt grad based in NY with 10+ years of teaching and tutoring experience. I currently work at RavenPack, a company that creates quantitative data products for hedge funds.
My teaching background includes a year in Thailand, where I taught high school English and tutored students one-on-one for standardized tests. I’ve also spent years teaching private piano lessons, helping students build the ability to perform under pressure.
What I love most about teaching is the moment something finally clicks, especially for a student who thought they couldn’t do it. I bring that same energy to SAT / ACT tutoring, helping students turn those moments into progress toward scores that once felt out of reach!

My SAT / ACT lessons are designed for students aiming for top scores, especially those who feel stuck despite putting in the work.
We start by identifying exactly where points are being lost. A typical lesson combines reviewing mistakes (both timing & accuracy) and applying it to real questions. You’ll leave with clear strategies and an understanding of what to work on.
My background spans classroom English, quantitative data, individual test prep, and private piano instruction. Across all, my approach is patient and adapted to the student, with an emphasis on building confidence to perform on test day.
