About Katie
I am a passionate piano teacher with 5+ years of experience teaching ages 5-65, from beginner to RCM 8. I am dedicated to the success of my students and to providing the best possible learning experience, tailored to student goals, experience and learning methods.
I have completed up to RCM 10 as well as the corresponding theory, harmony and history which I am also able to teach. I am currently working on completing my ARCT.
In addition, I have kept active in a variety of musical areas, such as church accompanist in collaboration with a variety of other instruments, performance in concerts and recitals, and a musician for weddings, funerals and other formal events.
I also have 5 years of experience as a cellist in orchestral and chamber performance.

My teaching methods are highly individualized to each student, based on the experience, goals, learning methods and abilities. I create and tailor learning plans for my students based on these components, and adjust if necessary.
During each class previous material is reviewed and enforced, and new material introduced. Student progress will be tracked and reported to parents if they desire.
My primary goal as a teacher is to share my passion for music, making learning piano an enjoyable and exciting experience for each student.
