In a world where there are many competing stimuli for a students attention, I believe it is important to deliver the subject in an exciting and relevant way whilst fully covering the content of any examination syllabus. I use humour and my own lifelong enthusiasm for the subject to deliver the syllabus and retain the students interest. I use up to date examples and make full use of IT. As a classroom teacher I was always firm but fair and believe in the establishment of mutual respect.
I have always loved science teaching and have 25 years experience as a secondary school teacher of science including 17 years as head of department. I have taught science to all abilities and secondary age groups. I enjoy helping students understand what I believe to be the most important subject of our times. Our world is a scientific one and an understanding of the subject is very important. Over the years I have helped many pupils achieve exam success and enabled them to continue further in their studies and career goals.
