About Jamie
I have an excellent track record with students, parents, and colleagues. I have served on my school's leadership team for 6 years, and have been teaching for 16. I strive to maintain a positive and inviting attitude so that my students know they can take risks through the learning process and receive feedback in a nonthreatening way. I have 16 years experience teaching in public charter schools, primarily in kindergarten through 6th grade classrooms. I am currently an instructional coach leading teachers in improving their instructional methods. I believe that clarity in lessons is key to success. Students thrive when lessons are modeled explicitly, then offered opportunities to practice with guidance before mastery is attained. I use constant data analysis to target student need. Student engagement is important to me, so getting to know student interests and planning for interactive experiences is also a highlight of my approach.
