About Upa
I completed a Master’s degree in Music at the University of Oxford, and later a PhD in Music at King’s College London.
I have been trained in a school of violin playing that inherits from and follows the aesthetic standards and technical methods of great masters such as Leopold Auer and Abram Yampolsky. I pass on this knowledge and skill with absolute passion and in my maximum capacity.
I have played the violin in different orchestras and prepared many students for ABRSM and Trinity exams, recitals, auditions and school concerts.

My approach is engaging and accessible and I believe I am able to create an environment in which students from all backgrounds and abilities can achieve their potential. I constantly assess my students to inform future planning. I believe that monitoring a student’s progress is linked to my own work and teaching method. Thus, I strive to revise and refine my approach to match the pace and goals of every student.
I never let bad habits stay and quickly detect wrong movements that hamper the progress of my students. I excel at keeping my students motivated and interested in abundant support and inspiration. I have the unique ability to observe and interpret students' behaviour, identify their learning needs and employ the best teaching style to ensure progress.
I have years of experience providing violin lessons for children and adults both as a private tutor and in school setting. I also offer music theory lessons to those who wish to gain an insight into the language of music and the fundamentals of music making. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and teach all ages and levels.
