About Malena

If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about helping students grow musically and personally, I’d be delighted to work with you!
I’m a passionate violinist and dedicated teacher originally from the beautiful Mediterranean city of Valencia, Spain. In 2020, I moved to London to continue my musical education at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where I’ve grown both as a performer and as an educator. I hold a First Class Honours Bachelor degree from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, currently undertaking my Master’s degree there. Alongside my performance work, I’m an experienced violin teacher with over 4 years of teaching in schools in London, mostly based in the Old Street area. I am currently a tutor with the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) and their Saturday Academy, where I work with students of a wide range of ages and backgrounds. I have a strong orchestral background, having performed with various ensembles in both Spain and the UK, and I’m also deeply involved in chamber music, with experience playing in string quartets and piano trios. This has given me a well-rounded understanding of collaborative musicianship, which I love to bring into my teaching. I’m also interested in contemporary classical music, and I enjoy exploring new sound worlds and creative approaches to performance. Alongside this, I’m passionate about the physical and mental wellbeing of musicians. Helping students develop healthy playing habits and a positive mindset is something I care deeply about. Teaching is one of the most fulfilling parts of my musical journey. I aim to create a warm, encouraging environment where students of all ages can grow in confidence, discover their own musical voice, and genuinely enjoy the process of learning the violin. I look forward to helping you or your child explore music with curiosity, expression, and joy!

Malena works with me every Saturday at the MiSST Music Academy – she tutors the violins of our Academy Orchestra and teaches one-to-one violin lessons. Malena is a fantastic teacher – she is always personable, friendly, supportive and encouraging, whilst remaining absolutely committed to very high standards and ensuring our students achieve the very best they can.

Add to that Malena being an outstanding violinist herself, with years of Guildhall School guidance and experience ready to share, she comes very highly recommended!
