About Maria
"Tuning by ear is often more effective than relying on a digital tuner for long term development. I teach violin through the lens of a vocalists ear to enhance your tone production.
My methods are grounded in my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Studies from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I integrate scales, arpeggios, and theory into a cohesive system that simplifies complex bowing techniques like spiccato.
After 9 years of working with students, I emphasise how classical repertoire choices influence your technical growth. I help you navigate the nuances of ABRSM and Trinity exam preparations with a methodical eye for detail. Do you want to see how your current bowing habits impact your sound?"

"You will find that the violin sounds better when you understand the tension in your own body, which is a lesson I learnt during my degree. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class provide a clear map for your technical development during the week. These 7 assignments focus on specific movements for your bow arm and left hand. I draw on my 9 years of experience to make the 329 students I have taught feel comfortable.
My background from Trinity Laban Conservatoire informs how we approach the bridge between theory and performance. It is worth noting that consistent practice of scales is what eventually makes the most difficult pieces feel natural. You might enjoy how we break down spiccato into smaller physical motions."
