About Isla
Teaching Spanish has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. During the past 11 years, I have successfully guided around 150 High School and College students towards becoming more confident and capable language learners. I believe every student has unlimited potential, and my role is to help unlock that potential through patience, encouragement, and effective teaching.
My teaching philosophy centres on making learning meaningful instead of stressful. I teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening, and speaking using practical examples that students can relate to in everyday life. My lessons include interactive conversations, language games, reading practice, and problem-solving activities that keep students interested and motivated.
I also encourage students to develop independent learning habits by reading Spanish articles, listening to Spanish music, and practising simple conversations outside the classroom. Regular feedback and revision sessions help students measure their improvement and continue progressing with confidence.
Helping around 150 students improve academically while developing confidence in speaking Spanish has been one of my greatest accomplishments. Their success reminds me that steady effort and positive guidance create meaningful results.
I am committed to making every lesson enjoyable, productive, and focused on helping students achieve their personal and academic goals while developing a lifelong appreciation for Spanish.

My Spanish teaching methodology emphasises motivation, communication, creativity, and proper time management to ensure students learn effectively and enjoyably. I motivate students by understanding their goals, providing encouragement, and celebrating their progress to boost confidence.
Communication is at the heart of my approach; I help students practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in practical contexts. Creativity is an essential part of my lessons; I use storytelling, games, role-plays, and visual activities to make learning interactive, fun, and memorable.
Time management ensures lessons are structured and productive, covering grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation practice efficiently. I also guide students on how to manage their study and practice outside class for continuous improvement.
Along with Spanish, I can teach related subjects such as grammar fundamentals, pronunciation techniques, and learning strategies. My goal is to provide a structured, enjoyable, and effective learning experience that builds fluency and confidence.
