About Sanela
Experienced in teaching professional athletes, people with special needs, adults, children and babies.
I uphold the highest standards of discretion, ensuring every individual, celebrity and VIP client enjoys a private, secure and bespoke swimming experience tailored exclusively to their needs.
I was a competitive swimmer from a young age and subsequently a gold medalist and record breaker in the 100m and 200m backstroke between 1986 - 1991 in Former Yugoslavia, competing in the 13 - 19-year-old age groups.
I have also had the privilege of working with one of our country’s swimming Olympians, the late Mr. David Wilkie, MBE, during the 1990s, and I was part of the campaign before the London Olympics 2012 to narrow the gender gap in synchronized swimming. This advocacy contributed to the first-ever mixed duet gold medal for Great Britain at the FINA World Masters Championships in South Korea (2019) and paved the way for mixed teams debuting at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
With over 30 years in the industry and more than 9,000 students worldwide in destinations as diverse as Chile, Rwanda, India, Japan and Europe, my primary goal is to improve clients’ relationship with water and promote freedom of movement.
I am also a FINA (International Swimming Federation) artistic swimming judge and an Advanced Open Water diver who enjoys spending time on liveaboards.
In recognition of my dedication and impact in the field, I was honoured with a Certificate of Excellence in 2021, celebrating my contributions to elite swim coaching. Additionally, I was nominated for the London Award 2013 (Coach of the Year) and recognised as an Ambassador for Quality Teaching (2020).
I take immense pride in my clients’ progress and achievements, knowing the commitment and dedication they invest in reaching their goals.
Head Coach in a West London Club for the past 11 years.
My coached clients have received notable media coverage, including features on the Andrew Marr Show (BBC), The Independent on Sunday, The Guardian, ABC News, Jo Brand’s Big Splash (Dave), Radio 4, Reuters, and Eurosport. I have also been featured in Health & Fitness, ID, and Vogue Magazines.
A New Kind of Coaching: Inside and Out
Swimming has always been at the core of my work but my background in biology and lifelong passion for science and wellbeing have expanded my approach beyond the pool.
I support clients in and out of the water, helping them understand how their body is functioning, recovering and adapting not just physically but nutritionally and at the cellular level.
We used to think of our genetic code as fixed, a script we inherited and couldn’t change. But we now know that our lifestyle choices can influence how our genes behave. What we eat, how we move, even where we live. All of these factors can shape our biological outcomes.
This is the field of nutrigenomics, where biology meets behaviour. It helps us understand how our food, environment and habits can switch genes on or off, guiding everything from metabolism and immune health to mood, skin and energy.
It’s a powerful reminder that we are not simply the product of our genes, but active participants in how they’re expressed.
It’s also a reminder that ageing isn’t something we must simply surrender to. Many people unknowingly give up too soon, believing that decline is inevitable; a bit similar to thinking that you can't lear to swim at any age.
But what if your future health could be shaped more by your actions than your age?
You might be surprised what small, consistent changes can unlock.
This is why I offer something unique as part of your swimming and wellness journey: a non-invasive scan that gives you a personalised snapshot of your antioxidant status which is a useful starting point to understand how well your nutrition is supporting your body.
This is where the BioPhotonic Scanner comes in. In under a minute it provides a Skin Carotenoid Score — a simple, science-backed number showing how effectively your body is absorbing the protective nutrients found in fruit, vegetables and supplements.
Think of it as a progress marker - like stepping on a smart scale but for your nutritional defences.
The reading of your score will provide you with insight into how well your nutrition is supporting your body.
Trusted Technology with Real Heritage
Developed at the University of Utah which is the same lab that pioneered the artificial heart this scanner is based on Nobel Prize-winning science known as Raman Spectroscopy. It’s been refined over decades to become a reliable, portable tool that gives you tangible insight into your nutritional health.
It’s a quiet, understated innovation that’s already helped people across the globe gain more clarity on their health. But it’s your result that matters most giving you a clearer picture of where you are and what might help.
No needles, no guesswork just clarity
Place your hand in front of a soft, low-energy blue light and you’ll receive an instant reading.
No invasive tests. No lab work. Just useful information to guide your next steps.
Why This Matters (Especially for My Clients)
1. If you're training hard, recovery depends on cellular health.
2. If you're feeling tired or run-down, your antioxidant reserves may be low.
3. If you’re investing in supplements, wouldn’t you want to know they’re actually working?
4. If you're focused on long-term health, this gives you something tangible to track.
5. Whether you’re returning from injury, prepping for competition or simply trying to feel more energised this scan gives us a starting point.
From there, I offer tailored guidance: small, smart shifts to help your body work better.

My greatest satisfaction always comes from seeing my clients enjoy their progress. Experience the difference between learning to swim and learning to swim the right way. Have a chance to become a swimmer who is powerful, graceful and effortless with any of the four strokes.
Whether working with nervous beginners who need to conquer their fear of water or with more advanced swimmers who want to reach triathlon or other swimming goals, I am certain that I can help you improve your results through supportive and experienced instruction.
I will help you develop body awareness with breathing techniques and swimming confidence in any of the four swimming strokes or synchronised swimming skills covering figures & sculling positions that you wish to achieve.
I also teach The Flow Form a unique approach to swimming that emphasises on body awareness, alignment and fluid movement. The method is designed to help swimmers move through the water with greater ease, efficiency and control while minimising unnecessary tension.
By focusing on smart swimming and breaking down each stroke into progressive movements, we ensure that every swimmer develops essential skills step by step. The technique prioritises quality over quantity, placing emphasis on body awareness, relaxed breathing and effortless propulsion rather than speed or distance.
By integrating rhythm, relaxation and range of movement, we help individuals develop a deep connection with the water. Each stroke is refined through structured yet intuitive learning, building confidence and technique in a way that feels natural.
"The Flow Form: A Structured & Accessible Path to Effortless Swimming"
The Flow Form is designed for those who prefer a structured yet cost-effective approach to mastering swimming. Unlike our fast-track private sessions, which focus on rapid skill acquisition in just 1–3 hours, the Flow Form offers a more gradual learning experience over 6–10 hours. This extended format provides excellent value, allowing for deeper skill reinforcement, greater confidence building and a more relaxed pace, making it accessible to a wider range of learners.
Helps:
️ Beginners & Water-Phobic Swimmers – Overcoming fear with gradual, pressure-free learning
️ Adults – Refining technique for smoother, more efficient strokes
️ Rehabilitation & Injury Prevention – Improving mobility while reducing strain
Through hands-on guidance, no swimming aids, and tailored instruction, the method promotes optimal body alignment and helps swimmers develop their skills with ease. Whether you’re learning to float, refining your stroke, or overcoming a lifelong fear of water ensuring a calm, supportive and empowering experience.

Perfect! We couldn’t be happier with our Sanela and her lovely swimming lessons. She is incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging, and she has such a lovely way of making the children feel confident and excited to learn. We’ve seen such amazing progress in a surprisingly short amount of time, and it’s all thanks to her calm, positive approach and dedication. The lessons are well organised, fun, and tailored to each child’s ability. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic swimming teacher!
- Today was another lovely lesson with these two boys.Sanela's response :
One of the greatest joys of coaching is watching trust grow. Swimming becomes so much easier when children feel safe, understood and excited to step into the water. Today was another reminder of just how important that relationship is.
Both boys arrived ready to learn, full of smiles and curiosity. Their listening skills continue to impress, especially at such a young age. They are becoming increasingly aware of their bodies in the water and are beginning to think before they move rather than simply reacting. That awareness provides a wonderful foundation for everything that comes next.
What makes these lessons particularly enjoyable is how much they encourage one another. There is plenty of laughter, imagination and play, yet when it is time to focus, they are able to switch their attention beautifully. That balance between fun and learning is where genuine confidence develops.
Every week we quietly build another small piece of the puzzle. Some days the progress is obvious, while on other days it is hidden beneath growing confidence, patience and body awareness. Those are often the most valuable lessons because they create swimmers who are relaxed, resilient and happy in the water.
It is a privilege to watch them grow and to be part of their swimming journey. They should both be very proud of themselves today.
Perfect! Sanela is a fantastic swimming coach, she brings incredible expertise and knowledge and is able to explain in a manner where even a beginner like me can understand. I very much appreciated her patience throughout our lessons and highly recommend Sanela if you want to learn or improve your swimming.
- It has been a pleasure working with Harman. Throughout our lessons, he demonstrated commitment, focus and a positive approach to learning, resulting in steady progress in the water.Sanela's response :
I wish him every success and enjoyment as he continues to develop his swimming.
Perfect! I had a brilliant session with Sanela and came away with some genuinely useful insights to work on in my swimming.
I’ve spent a lot of time recently building endurance for triathlon, but hadn’t really stopped to revisit the finer details of technique. Sanela was incredibly perceptive and gave really clear, practical feedback that immediately made sense in the water. In particular, we worked on creating more length and flow through my stroke, alongside improving the effectiveness of my kick and overall balance in the water.
What I appreciated most was how tailored and thoughtful the coaching felt. Rather than overloading me with corrections, she identified a few key changes that will make a real difference, and I’m already planning to incorporate them into my weekly drill sessions.
Sanela is knowledgeable, encouraging and very precise in her coaching style. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking to swim more efficiently and feel more confident in the water.- Have very much enjoyed the session with Caroline, a strong and thoughtful swimmer with a solid triathlon background and a genuine desire to continue refining her swimming. Despite already performing at a good level, she approached the session with curiosity, openness and a willingness to explore how greater efficiency could be achieved, particularly in preparation for non-wetsuit events.Sanela's response :
During the session, our focus was on developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between body position, rotation and the role of the leg kick within front crawl for triathlon swimming. Together, we explored how greater support, balance and connection through the stroke can be achieved through technique and body awareness rather than reliance on equipment.
What stood out most was Caroline's willingness to question, analyse and engage with the process. This mindset is often what enables swimmers to continue progressing long after the initial gains have been made. Rather than focusing solely on fitness or effort, we explored how subtle improvements in coordination, timing and body awareness can contribute to a more efficient, sustainable and enjoyable stroke.
A thoroughly enjoyable session with a swimmer who is clearly committed to her development and eager to better understand how the water can work with, rather than against, her movement.
Perfect! Sanela was a brilliant coach with very clear communication. After 1 lesson I could feel the techniques she was drilling into me come into effect and by the end of the second lesson there was a substantial increase in my ability to not use power as a means of forward motion in my front crawl. The idea of swimming for 2 miles does worry me but with these techniques I now possess I am much more confident of completing the task. A brilliant teacher !
- Tony approached the sessions with strong determination and a clear goal-oriented mindset in preparation for the Serpentine Swim.Sanela's response :
As an already capable swimmer looking to refine his technique and improve efficiency over longer distances, the focus of our work was centred around developing greater consistency within the stroke to support more sustainable swimming with less fatigue and better energy management.
Particular attention was given to front crawl mechanics, including body position, breathing rhythm, stroke timing, glide efficiency and maintaining smoother, more connected movement through the water.
We worked on reducing unnecessary resistance and improving the relationship between propulsion, balance and relaxation, helping create a more sustainable and controlled stroke pattern over distance.
As technique became more refined, there was a noticeable improvement in stroke smoothness, rhythm and overall efficiency in the water. Tony responded very well to technical feedback and demonstrated strong focus, coachability and willingness to apply adjustments consistently throughout the sessions.
The sessions combined technical understanding with efficient progression, helping develop both confidence and practical swimming performance within a relatively short period of time. With continued consistency and ongoing technical refinement, Tony has very strong potential to continue progressing comfortably towards his open water and endurance swimming goals.
Perfect! Sanela is an amazing teacher, guides you in a way that gives you the confidence and the skills to exceed your goals especially in my case. Before I was scared to explore the deep end of the pool area now I can tread water, swim with genuine confidence in that area, so thankful for your training drills and knowledge you have passed on to me
- Martin was an absolute pleasure to teach and brought a calm, thoughtful and genuinely positive attitude to the learning process throughout our sessions together. From the beginning, there was a strong willingness to learn and engage with technical feedback, which allowed for steady and encouraging progress in the water.Sanela's response :
A significant focus of the sessions involved building confidence and gradually reducing fear and tension within the water environment, helping create a more relaxed and trusting relationship with the water itself. As confidence improved, Martin began developing a much better understanding of body position, breathing rhythm, balance and movement efficiency, all of which supported his front crawl development.
Particular attention was given to creating smoother, more connected front crawl movement, improving streamline and reducing unnecessary resistance in the water. Through consistent technical refinement and growing body awareness, there was noticeable progress in both confidence and stroke efficiency over time.
Martin approached each session with patience, openness and determination, making the learning process both rewarding and enjoyable. It was genuinely a pleasure to work with him and to see his confidence and understanding continue to grow.
Perfect! Sanela is an excellent teacher with a great deal of dedication and attention to details. She is very patient and able to adapt her coaching to suit the bêle of her students. I highly recommend her!
- Thank you Meriem, Each swimmer brings their own personality and strengths to the water. Supporting athletes who show genuine hunger to improve, who care about the smallest technical details and who are willing to put in the work beyond what is visible, is what makes coaching meaningful.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela has a remarkable ability to understand her students and adapt her teaching style to the way in which they learn. I was astounded by just how quickly I was able to learn front crawl, not being a regular swimmer and not having done much more than a 'holiday swim' in over 20 years! I would highly recommend Sanela as a tutor.
- Thank you so much for your kind words Sarah. It was a pleasure working with you and seeing your confidence grow so quickly in the water.Sanela's response :
Everyone learns differently and I’m glad the approach resonated with you. I’m delighted you’re now enjoying front crawl after so many years away from swimming. Keep going as now have a great foundation to build on.
Perfect! Sanela taught our daughter swimming lessons in September and October 2025, and she was absolutely fantastic! She’s extremely knowledgeable and teaches all the strokes to a very high standard. Sanela was always friendly, punctual, and made each lesson enjoyable and productive. We’d highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their technique. It was a real pleasure getting to know her, and our daughter gained so much from the experience.
- Thank you, Toby. It was a pleasure teaching your daughter, whose focus and determination are already setting strong foundations for long-term athlete development. She approaches the water with the discipline of someone who genuinely wants to master the sport and it has been inspiring to see her progress with such intent.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela is an amazing teacher. She is so attentive and calming and also very fun to learn from. Highly recommend!!
- Thank you Sheetal. It’s been a privilege to support your return to movement after recent knee surgery. From the very first session, I was struck by your determination, openness to learning and trust in the process. Working in the water post-surgery requires both physical courage and mental focus and you have definitely brought both to each session. Your progress has been inspiring — a testament to how deeply the body responds when met with patience, skill and a willingness to try. I truly admire your strength and am honoured to be part of the recovery journey. With best wishes, SanelaSanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela quickly identified where I was going wrong with my stroke and we worked through various drills. The 3 sessions we had were intense and I learned a lot in a short time.
- Thank you, Hoye — it’s been a real pleasure working with you. Preparing for an Ironman is no small task, especially when it comes to the swim: open water conditions, mass starts and the need to conserve energy for the bike and run can make it the most daunting leg of the race.Sanela's response :
Our focus was on efficiency, rhythm and building stroke control that holds up under pressure. I’m so glad you saw such strong improvements in just a few sessions. You’ve shown great determination — and I know you’ll carry that through to the finish line.
Perfect! I honestly can't thank my swimming teacher enough! In just four lessons, she managed to do something I never thought possible — help me overcome my fear of deep water. Her patience, encouragement, and warm teaching style made all the difference. She created such a safe and supportive environment that I not only felt comfortable, but actually started to enjoy being in the water.
Her positive energy and clear guidance made every session something I looked forward to. I always felt seen, understood, and gently challenged in the best way. Thanks to her, I feel confident, calm, and excited to keep swimming. She's truly amazing at what she does and has made a real impact on me. Highly, highly recommended! :)Perfect! Sanela is an amazing coach . She helped me overcome a deep seated fear of deep water born from a childhood incident ,something I had tried to address on numerous occasions previously with different instructors but not succeeded
With Sanela after only a handful of sessions , it was as a light had been turned on and I was able to move in the water with more ease. I’m super grateful to her , for her kindness, patience and sensitive approach, always making me feel Completely safe. Saying that she also has a no nonsense , driven attitude , always encouraging and it’s this which is so inspiring to lead you to want to succeed too- Thank you so much for your kind words.Sanela's response :
An embedded fear of water can be deeply rooted in past experiences often making it feel impossible to overcome. But as you have shown it is never too late to face that fear and take the courageous step towards freedom in the water.
The fact that you had tried several instructors before without success makes your progress even more meaningful and I am truly honoured to have been part of this journey with you.
Overcoming fear is not just about learning technique it is about trust mindset and finding the right approach. Seeing you move with ease and confidence in the water is a testament to your determination and I have no doubt that this new sense of freedom will continue to grow.
It has been a pleasure working with you and I am so happy you can now experience the joy and liberation that water brings!
Perfect! Sanela is first of all a very nice person and an amazing swimmer.
Concerning the lessons, she will come in the pool with you and watch you swim for a bit then she will identify all issues with your techniques and correct then one by one by explaining, demonstrating and give you also some tips.
Very precise, knows what she does and very effective !
Highly recommend !- PJ's long - term goal is to build endurance and swim for extended periods, with the aim of applying these skills to triathlons in the near future. Our focus has been on improving stroke efficiency to achieve this desired outcome. Remarkably, we were able to make significant progress in 2 hours.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela is the best swimming tutor I have ever had. From the very first lesson, despite having no prior experience, I was able to swim breaststroke. She explained everything in detail but in a gradual way, so I never felt overwhelmed or confused. After just three lessons, I feel completely confident in my breaststroke technique. She also considers any injuries and adapts the lessons accordingly. She is a genuinely kind and personable person. I highly recommend Sanela!
- Elizaveta, I'm really glad to hear that you felt confident in your breaststroke. In our sessions, we worked on breaking down each part of the stroke gradually , and it's so satisfying to see how much progress you've made. Moving forward , we are focusing on refining your body alignment and strength in your front crawl with different drills and focusing on the technique itself and tumble turns. These will help you become a faster and fitter swimmer. Looking forward to continuing to build on what we've achieved so far.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Quickly builds trust and adapts her approach to focus on my learning needs. Provides good constructive feedback so that I know what areas to focus on.
- Andrew's goal was to learn how to be more comfortable and at ease in water. The end goal was to be able to enjoy swimming as a form of exercise. We have spent extensive amount of time learning about body awareness and different breathing techniques before moving onto freestyle. We had 5 hours of sessions in total.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Best swimming teacher ever ! I never thought swimming lesson were fun until I met Sanela, her lesson are fun and she's always reassuring and encouraging.
I always loved water and wanted to learn how to swim properly and enjoy being in water.
Before my swimming lesson I was nervous and anxious, I've done 3 lesson so far and I definetly feel more confident and relax now in the water
I'm looking forward for my future lessons and learn all different swimming skills.Perfect! From being easy to communicate with, to her flexible approach and of course her expert knowledge of the water.. Sanela is truly the perfect Swimming teacher.
Sanela has been able to completely transform my confidence in the water as a complete beginner who literally believed that my body defied science and just could not float. Contrary to my pre-lesson thoughts, each session has been individually valuable! I have left every session having learnt to do something I not only couldn’t do before but didn’t even think I’d be able to do anytime soon.
Every-time I hit a new milestone I hear her praises and enthusiasm even whilst I’m underwater! Sanelas passion is truly undeniable.
If you’re considering swimming lessons then trust in the reviews - go for Sanela!- Zahonie took a long awaited stride to go back into the water environment and regain her confidence. We have been in the process of gradual learning of a few different strokes.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela was very quick t respond and was very kind. She showed good understanding of my needs and provided an efficient and effective session. I have some very good techniques to practice to help me enjoy the water and relax more. Thanks again!
- Marcia is a competent swimmer who can swim front crawl and backstroke. She needed some of my help to conquer her fear by being in a deep end while swimming and being able to dive underwater. At the end of our lesson she was able to dive 2.5 meters. We had one session in total.Sanela's response :
Perfect! I'm very happy with Sanela's coaching style. While I am generally a decent swimmer, it has been my longstanding dream to learn the butterfly stroke. Sanela has managed to teach me the main technique in a surprisingly short timeframe, which is great! She is very responsive and clear in her communication, easy to arrange a class and gives thoughtful advice during the sessions. Definitely recommend!
- Tatyana only needed 1.5 hours to accomplish full stroke with good body composition, rhythm and undulation power. Well done for achieving your long standing goal !!!Sanela's response :
Perfect! As someone learned swimming at a very late age, I have never had this “at ease” feeling in water. I could only swim breaststroke, and was always super nervous especially when the water is deep. Sanela helped me to learn front crawl, and all kinds of body movement under the water. The different exercise and body movement under the water were a game changer that helped me a lot in overcoming the fear. I was someone reluctant to put my head under the water before I started the lesson! She also taught me how to breath properly. Learning to swim properly and to enjoy all sorts of water activities/sports is something on my bucket list , thank you for helping me reaching this!
- Preparing herself for a trip to open water swimming experience with snorkling in icy water it was very important for Jennifer to eliminate her fear of swimming discomfort. Jennifer's request was a crash course to be able to:Sanela's response :
a) eliminate her fear in deep water;
b) learn front crawl as she was able to do basic breastroke ;
c ) learn how to dive under water;
d) learn breathing technique while swimming front crawl.
We had 5 hours of training hours together. Super happy for you Jennifer with your achievement !
Perfect! Sanela is an amazing swimming instructor for my son Henry (age 6) and we are so glad to be working with her. Henry has so much fun in the pool and he looks forward to lessons with Sanela. She is extremely intuitive with children this age and she has an ability to put them at ease and connect with them. She has been incredibly professional and communicative and she is extremely reliable and punctual. Thanks so much Sanela!
- Henry , age 6, is a very gentle and sensitive boy who likes to follow teacher's instructions. At the beginning we had five 45 min lessons to start off Henry's success in swimming. After several months of preparation Henry has managed to win his first ever school swimming gala. The competition was tough against 96 candidates competing in Year 1 for boys and the finals consisted of the 8 fastest boys in school. Henry has managed to come 1st in front crawl and 2nd in backstroke. I am so very proud of your achievement. Well done Henry!!! With the right guidance Henry is now able to swim front crawl together with breathing on every three strokes. His favourite part of the lessons are dives and catching toys from the bottom of the 1.5 m pool. We have also worked on breaststroke and butterfly leg propulsion and timing of both strokes.Sanela's response :
Perfect! I woke up Monday morning convinced big bodies of water and I were natural enemies. I couldn't float, wouldn't dare put my head under water and generally feared pools....Now it's a Thursday of the same week and have had my 4th lesson with Sanela. Not only am I more confident in the water but I'm doing front crawls and swimming underwater and trying to perfect hand stands! This lady is an ocean of teaching knowledge (all puns intended). Not only did she break things down in a way I could understand and pushed me to learn at a pace she knew I could learn (even when I didn't believe I could myself) , but she's been very patient and kind.
I can only put 5/5 on this review because there isn't an 11/5 option. I highly recommend!!- Taking a leap of courage to learn how to swim as an adult is a big step. Francis was determined to do it! His enthusiasm was unbeatable and the fear is definitely no longer holding him back. Well done!Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela is an excellent swimming instructor! She is very professional, knowledgeable and patient. Her lessons are very fun and my daughter looks forward to the class every time!!
- Delightful and vibrant Kelly is greatly confident in streamline positions of front crawl and backstroke and is able to swim good distance in leg kick drills. As a member of one of London's swimming clubs she needed some help in understanding propulsion in front crawl and breaststroke swimming. Our main task was to improve her propulsion ability of the pull in frontcrawl by determining the surface area of the hand and in breaststroke kick in practicing to avoid screw kick and focusing on instep of feet pushing backward and the peak force occurring when the feet are about half way back toward complete extension of the legs.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela is an excellent teacher! She has really helped build my confidence in swimming and now I’m nit so scared of getting into the pool. With just a few lessons, I’m already feeling like a pro! I had to take a break from my lessons for medical reasons but I really can’t wait to start off again! Sanela is Highly recommended, she is gentle and her tutoring style is top notch
- Successful communications.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela has been teaching swimming to my kids for a couple of months now. She is highly professional, enthusiastic and she loves what she is doing which is so important. It has been a pleasure to be working with her.
She has also given a couple of classes to my husband who also enjoyed the lessons.- Successful communication.Sanela's response :
Perfect! Sanela was absolutely amazing ! My 2 year old felt very comfortable being in the water with her from the start . I am so glad we found her !
- Have thoroughly enjoy the interaction with lively and delightful little boy Badr who has embraced his new experience with water.Sanela's response :

After a swimming incident, i developed the fear of deep water and after searching and finding a few 'fear of water' swimming instructors, Sanela from nager stood out for me. I was able to give Sanela detailed information about my situation, and through this she was able to formulate a plan for me for the 1:1 fear of water swimming lessons. After my first lesson with Sanela in deep water, I was confident enough to perform a sitting and kneeling dive that same week in my regular swimming lesson.
I have also become more confident with the breathing technique she taught me.
I didn't know I was cruising by until Sanela gave me the encouraging push I needed to overcome certain fears.
Sanela remained professional, positive and very encouraging, she comes highly recommended.
We came to Sanela looking for additional technical support for our two boys, both of whom already swim competitively within a club environment. Although they were training regularly, we had started to feel that progress across several strokes had begun to stagnate and that certain technical details were not improving as much as we had hoped.
Over the course of just one month working with Sanela, the improvement in both boys has been extremely noticeable. What stood out most was the level of technical understanding and attention to detail brought into each session.
The results have honestly exceeded our expectations. Our older son achieved personal best times in 7 out of 9 races which was a huge confidence boost for him and clearly reflected the technical improvements being made in the water. Our younger son has also progressed tremendously and was moved into a higher training lane where he is now performing near the top of the group and competing with much greater confidence and consistency.
Beyond the measurable results, both boys genuinely enjoyed the sessions and responded very well to Sanela’s calm, encouraging and highly technical coaching style. The one-to-one technical refinement complemented their club training extremely well and helped address details that can often be difficult to focus on within larger squad environments.
We are incredibly grateful for the progress both boys have made in such a short period of time and would highly recommend Sanela to any swimmer or family looking for thoughtful, highly personalised and technically focused coaching.Sanela is an excellent teacher with a great deal of dedication and attention to detail. She is patient and able to adapt her coaching to suit the needs of her students. I highly recommend her!
I'm grateful to have found Sanela such an amazing swimming instructor. She is incredibly patient, encouraging, and professional, and she has a wonderful way of making every lesson both fun and productive. I went from being nervous in the water to confidently swimming and truly enjoying her lessons.
Sanela explains techniques clearly, builds skills step by step. What really sets her apart is how genuinely kind and supportive she is—she celebrates every small success and motivates her students to keep improving.
I've developed tremendous progress in a short amount of time, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled, trustworthy, punctual and caring swimming instructor.
I am almost 50 years old and I was not swimming rather than floating. Sanela was great at showing me the technics patiently. I have taken 8 hours of swimming lessons for her and I improved drastically. I highly recommend her.
Very good coach. Helpful tips and strategies for swiming. Helped me a lot.
Sanela -has been my children’s coach (ages 10, 9, and 6) for three years now. Every training session is a real joy for them. As a parent, I can clearly see the results – improved technique, discipline, and most importantly, a strong desire to train! The children have made great progress and are now participating in school competitions. We are very happy with this collaboration and continue our training sessions.
In 25 consecutive daily lessons Sanela took me from 43-year-old anxious and complete beginner to confident and happy swimmer with basic competence in the four main strokes plus diving. She is a superb teacher and wonderful company.
Sanela is a great teacher for my daughter. She’s reliable, committed and honest
Sanela was very helpful in immediately assessing my skillset and from minute 1 was already providing useful advice to improve my technique. It is clear that she has plenty of experience, is a pro and can explain items in a clear and concise manner. Definitely reccomend.
I was coached by Sanela weekly for a number of years and and have nothing but admiration for her dedication, skill and knowledge. She is happy to pass on her experience and has a friendly and approachable teaching style. Highly recommended.
Sanela is a professional swimming teacher.. she has taught me how to master front crawl in just 3 hours. She can correct and teach swimming basics in a fast conscience manner. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and would highly recommend her.
Selena is a very good teacher. My stoke improved massively after just a few sessions and therefore my confidence and speed in the water. If I don't pick up on a new technique she approaches the problem from another angle until I understand. Thoroughly enjoy the lessons and takeaway drills to work on.
I chose Sanela as my swimming instructor as her profile not only set out her achievements as a swimmer but the enjoyment that she derived from helping others achieve their goals.
I found her to be cheerful, positive and laser-focused.
She was able to identify quickly fundamental issues which were causing symptoms that other instructors had tried to correct in isolation.
Sanela keeps her lessons challenging but is realistic and encouraging.
I will contact her again when I have practiced what she has taught me and strongly recommend her to others.Sanela is an incredible Swimming Instructor!! With over 30 years experience and over 7000 students we were so relieved to find her. Couldn't recommend her highly enough!
I really cannot recommend Sanela highly enough!
I enlisted her help to improve my swimming confidence, technique and stamina in advance of my first “half Ironman” triathlon (with 2k swim), which was coming up very soon. My baseline was very far from where it needed to be.
Sanela wasted no time - she is super efficient with her teaching, while also creating a patient, safe and encouraging environment to learn. I’ve had 3 lessons so far and have come away each time with so much more knowledge and confidence. We covered breathing, front crawl, breast stroke and a little on open water swimming.
Sanela is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and can immediately diagnose issues with fear or anxiety as well as your technique, and then help you feel more capable using methods that “click” really easily.
She really loves to help people reach their goals in the water and is always so encouraging. You can tell she’s genuinely thrilled to see you make each small improvement and is in your corner, willing you on.
The result: even after 3 lessons, my technique and confidence were streaks ahead of what they were. I finished my 2k in a great time for me and most importantly enjoyed it! I don’t think this would have been possible without her help and support.
I truly believe Sanela can help you, whatever your goals are in the water, so please don’t hesitate to book her!Sanela is absolutely phenomenal with swimming lessons. She breaks down each steps and explains the reason. She has a lot of patience (trust me, I am a slow learner). She makes it really easy to understand.
Sanela has been superbly flexible to match my work schedule. Thank you so much. Absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking to learn swimming.
Regards
Kaushik
Sanela is an amazing instructor, she is patient, kind and extremely professional. She takes her role seriously, she loves what she does therefore teaching is so natural and fluid for her. I had 4 lessons with her and can’t recommend her enough.
I have been very impressed with Sanela's instruction. She has given me the confidence to overcome my initial fear of the water and had me floating for the first time during the first lesson. She takes time to explain things clearly, which allowed me to build my trust her. Sanela has provided excellent feedback and adapted her approach to my needs during the course of training, helping me to focus on areas of improvement. I strongly recommend Sanela as a very trustworthy tutor.
Sanela has done such an incredible job in teaching me and my wife how to swim and every lesson is structured for maximum learning. Extremely professional communication and I would highly recommend Sanela for anyone looking to learn or improve.
There are coaches and then there's an amazing few. In the past I have worked with a few other individuals until I met Sanela. She worked with me on improving my PB time on 800m front crawl and 100m breaststroke. I have managed to cut down over a 1 min and 10 sec on my 800m front crawl and over 15 sec on my 100m breaststroke. I still hold the blitz of happiness in achieving this - big game changer for me.
I have taken around 10 classes with Sanela from being a full beginner. I am now able to swim two different strokes and am not afraid to get into a deep pool or even a sea. The lessons were filled with patience and various different methods of how to get comfortable in water.
I am a waterpolo goal keeper. I needed to improve my speed in eggbeater to achieve good height . It was very hard work but well worth it!
It took me a while to decide which swimming teacher to choose for two of my children. One is in a
tough competitive swimming environment and needs extra help with technique and speed review before competitions and the other one is just starting to swim. Sanela is highly skilled individual. Her knowledge, experience and guidance are second to none.I had a medium fear of water when started swimming lessons with Sanela. Initially, a fair bit of time was spent building my confidence to deal with fear itself and learning how to be with ease in water environment.
Over the time of intensive 2 weeks course I was able to swim fairly competently front crawl and backstroke and have found enjoyment by being in water. I feel invigorated. As a freediver I needed some help in learning how to keep my thoughts clear, keep my calmness during my diving and how to better equalise pressure under water on a single breath in a short space of time. Thank you Sanela for teaching me how to maximise my breath control !!!
Considering the fact that I am in my late 60s I would like to let you know that I gained much needed information from your breast stroke teaching method. I have thoroughly enjoyed your lovely personality demeanour. Although, I have had previous instruction I gained a new understating of the stroke itself and I feel I have improved which has given me more confidence. Many thanks B.
Very interesting way of teaching swimming and braking down each movement. I felt that you identified major and even minor issues of my swimming technique. You didn’t just tell me and show me what to do but you’ve also explained the effects it will have in the water for someone like me who is recovering after hip operation. Overall, I think that Alexander Technique works for me and that you’ve done fantastic job teaching it.
My son is 12 years old. In the past we have worked with other teachers, at different venues, but the experience now is very special. The approach is one of great sensitivity both towards the skills, as well as toward the character of my boy. She has been very understanding of the fact that due to ongoing health issues, sometimes feels tires, or cold, or not very focused. The lessons often start in a playful way, with various games, and quickly progress towards more complicated exercises and training. Exercises which seemed very difficult to me, to the point where I thought my child will never be able to complete them, he is already mastering. We are very grateful and looking forward to continuing working with you Sanela.
I really enjoyed my short time with you and Iearnt an awful lot about being in the water. It has changed my whole approach to swimming. It was the combination of clear explanations/ feedback and the video footage. The hands - on guiding me through the movements in the water so I could ' feel the correct movement; and your own demonstration in the water of my incorrect movements as well as the correct version, with me watching from the poolside, that really helped. I have found that the learning I gained has remained clear in my mind because of the clear way you conveyed things. So a huge thanks to you, it was truly helpful. David Lewis
Sanela is an outstanding swimming teacher; she is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and focused whilst also being empathetic, non- judgemental and having excellent communication skills. My lessons with Sanela are really enjoyable whilst also being very focused on my development.
I personally have made incredible progress in a short amount of time; I started of being a beginner swimmer who was petrified of the water. Within a few weeks of Sanela training me I am confident and swimming with ease (as well as my fear disappearing). I never would have never thought the level of achievement I have reached was possible (especially is such a short amount of time).
I cannot recommend Sanela highly enough.Sanela is a great coach and has helped me modify my freestyle to become more efficient and less tiring. She is very motivational and empathetic. She has a very gentle and charming way of teaching. I would definitely recommend her. 5 Star teacher !
Sanela is a friendly and responsible swimming instructor. I tried to get her to teach my daughter 1.5 years ago but she was fully engaged, I tried again this summer and am glad that my persistence paid off. Sanela is a patient and meticulous in her teaching style, she cares about her student's performance and tries the best to find a way that suits the student.
Our son absolutely adores and loves swimming lessons with Sanela! She is a top professional and most importantly a very kind person. Our son has considerably improved his technique in a very short period of time and now wants to be a swimming captain at the school he attends. This is how confident he became.
She is an experienced Swimming tutor and her expertise teaching has put the kiss’s mind at ease. With her teaching, the kids has developed into confidence and capable child in swimming. I would highly recommend her as swimming tutor for your child and adults.
I took swimming lessons with Sanela for her expertise in working with people like me with a fear of the water. Her mix of methodical approach to improving swimming technique combined with beginning to shift my relationship with water from fear to enjoyment was exceptional. I enjoyed every lesson and can’t wait now to get back in the water, which is a really novel feeling for me!
Sanela Is an exceptional person, I could only do a very poor breast stroke, never put my head under water, I am now confident in going onto the pool floor and swimming crawl with my head underwater. Highly educated with great motivation. Leaves you looking forward to your next lesson.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sanela
Elizabeth CraneI would like to recommend Sanela for swimming lessons. I am a complete beginner and took a lot of time to decide starting swimming lessons because I feared it was too late at my age (mid 30s). At the beginning I wasn't sure what to expect and felt quite nervous but Sanela was so kind and reassuring that all the anxiety went away. Sanela is an excellent tutor, she is calm, gives clear directions and is very skilful at inspiring confidence. After only 3 lessons with her I am for the first time able to relax in water facing down and in control of my breathing. She made me trust my abilities and look forward to my next lesson. I would highly recommend Sanela to anyone looking for a swimming tutor, including adults who are complete beginners in water!
Sanela connected with my children for the first sight and after one lesson the children confidently went under water - which they were not keen to do before.
Her teaching method is very efficient, children learn swimming in a playful way, having lots of fun during the lessons.Sanela is amazing with children. Not only is she an extremely competent swimming instructor but she has a great understanding of pedagogy and it becomes evident she loves teaching children. Watching our son's progress with Sanela after trying so many different swimming schools and incompetent instructors has been incredibly rewarding. He accomplished with Sanela in months, what he didn't accomplish in years. We couldn't recommend Sanela more.
In January 2020 I took the decision to learn how to properly swim. I was looking for 1:1 class near work (before the pandemic), with somebody who could gradually work on the basics and then improve my confidence and my technique. Sanela has been absolutely amazing. She is true professional, both in terms of technique and in terms of coaching. She listen, observes and explain very clearly and thoughtfully. My technique and confidence made huge leaps at each session - Sanela very quickly identifies what needs to be worked on, helps you overcome fear of water, works on every aspect of the technique, and gently pushes you to reach the goals. Having a swimming coach like Sanela makes a huge difference, and I warmly recommend her to anyone interested in learning how to swim or improve swimming skills.
I did a crash course on synchronized swimming with my beautiful teacher Sanela. (Five 30-minute sessions) She’s really helped build up my confidence in the sport and made sure that the sessions are always fun! In my few sessions, I manged to do the basic sculling with ease. I’m so pleased with my progress and renewed enthusiasm for the water! Thank you for coming into my life and making it a bit more interesting than before.
I have been taking individual swimming lessons with Sanela for several months and I really enjoy learning with her. She is knowledgable, patient and explains and demonstrates things clearly. She obviously loves to teach, and takes real pleasure in her students' progress. She is also very professional and reliable. I am happy to recommend her.
With her vast experience Sanela is able to 'diagnose' and recommend changes. She is empathetic which makes it much easier to discuss concerns. And she's a lovely person too.
Sanela is a fantastic swimming teacher. She is patient, and has excellent teaching skills, giving clear instructions that everyone can understand. She is very warm, and knows very well how to make people feel competent and confident.
She worked with a group of 12 women and gave them their first synchronized swimming lesson, and the group felt they achieved a great deal in a short space of time. I cannot recommend her more highly.Sanela is a really amazing tutor! We have had just about 5 lessons so far and I have transformed from being totally scared of dipping my head into the water to being confident to swim to the deep end of the pool! She even worked with my little daughter for only an hour and guided her carefully with a few pointers & that has made her more confident to swim the length of our pool on her own! I would recommend Sanela any day...She is simply the best!
Sanela has been such an amazing teacher.
I’ve always been scared to go in the deep end and I’m amazed at what I’ve learned from Sanela in just a couple of lessons.
I was nervous about swimming but she has helped me overcome that fear and love the water.
I would definitely recommend her without a doubt.Sanela is an amazing instructor that has a wealth of experience. I have quickly learnt and improved in my swimming techniques in a few hours of lessons with her. Would not recommend her enough !
We are thankful for Ms. Sanela for teaching my children swimming. She always very patient to them, and make classes very interesting.
Sanela is a passionate teacher with excellent communication skills to help you get the most out of your swimming journey. It is a joy to have her guidance, professionalism and sweet disposition. She is the best !
For several years Sanela thought my child to swim. Through a gentle approach, she was able to engage him through various games, while showing sensitivity to his fears, as well as his preferences. She was always positive and welcoming, and we found ourselves looking forward to her lessons each and every time. Over the whole period, my child was making a clear progress, which was methodologically noted and analysed in his special swim development book. A truly special, dedicated teacher!
Sanela was great help to me! As a competitive swimmer racing at Regional level, I was looking for help with my freestyle and backstroke turns in order to reduce my overall times. After only a few sessions with Sanela I was able to quicken my turns and improve my racing times at galas. She also provided me advice for my stroke technique and diving. Would highly recommend!
LillyI know Sanela as my son's swimming teacher. She is a calm and patient teacher. My son's confidence went up and he improved quickly in swimming. I would strongly recommend Sanela as a swimming teacher.
“I am writing to share with you my delight and appreciation of your swimming program and teaching method.
As a mother and grandmother ( of many children) over the past 45 years I have watched literally dozens of swimming lessons and observed many swimming teachers in action.
Never have I felt moved to write about a swimming teacher till now.
I have been delighted and impressed watching Sanela teaching my four year old grand daughter in her private lessons and have also watched her teach others.
Sanela's ability to instil confidence and enthusiasm in these children is extraordinary. She has a clear understanding of each child and they all want to try their best for her - plus they have fun while they learn.
Her passion and love for teaching children to swim correctly and elegantly is obvious to anyone who has the good fortune of seeing her in action.
My grand daughter has benefited enormously from this important training. She still remembers very clearly the pleasure she had learning to swim with Sanela and the skills she taught her will be with her for life. She’s an expert swimming coach, able to combine outstanding technical skills and supportive, inspirational communication to make your lesson always a great, positive experience. She has a special, right touch to work with children and teenagers as well. Highly reccomanded!
Sanela is the most wonderful swimming teacher. I saw her giving another little girl lessons and I knew she was the teacher for my little girl. She builds a proper connection with the children and through that and her fantastically engaging teaching methods my daughter is doing so well and loves her swimming lessons. Getting her out of the pool when she’s having a lesson with Sanela is a struggle. That says it all really! Thank you Sanela
Sanela was truly instrumental
In teaching my daughter to swim. Through her brilliant instruction she had my daughter swimming by the age of 3.5yrs and 100% confidently by 4years old. She is absolutely outstanding in my opinion, she is wonderful.Sanela taught me to swim front crawl after several other instructors had failed. She has a wealth of experience to draw on, which means she’s able to diagnose problems, give clear feedback and come up with solutions. Whilst being evangelical about everyone’s capacity to learn, she’s really flexible and patient. I had fun and a sense of achievement every lesson.
