About Matthew
I grew up,played Percussion in Leeds Youth Orchestra which taught me to read.I went on to study Drum Kit at Birmingham Conservatoire,then onto the Guildhall School of Music,London.After that I was signed with my band in Los Angeles,California USA.Very Lucky!

My teaching method is to get a sense of what the student wants to get out of my lessons.I cover basic techniques to get the pupil comfortable before doing anything else,,including breathing and posture.I also make the lessons fun with playing along to music of all kinds of styles,.questioning not only why the drummer is playing in a certain way,but the music itself.I cover drum soloing ,but I also want the pupil to know the role of the drummer in a band situation .
