Lessons focused on application by doing questions and explanations of topics if needed. 1h lesson on evenings.
I use exam style questions to show students how to apply the knowledge. Maths is mainly repetitive and I believe it is best understood by doing it.
There is a clear gap between theory and practice and the exam is practice so I focus on that.
