About Jack

This may sound harsh, but it must be said clearly, many people still do not read my profile in full before contacting me. To avoid disappointment and to ensure you are the right fit for my coaching style, please read the entire profile—including all “See More” on all sections and watch my coaching video before messaging me. If you decide to message me, you must begin with the exact words that I request. "iv'e read your profile in full including all sections and watched my coaching video". If you do not, I will not respond.

Most of my students are respectful and pleasant. However, I still encounter individuals who claim they have read my entire profile but clearly have not, and I regret accepting them as clients. You are paying for my time, but I teach according to a specific method that produces results, and I expect that to be respected. I frequently hear comments such as, “My other coach told me you do it this way.” This is usually because their previous instruction was incorrect. Tennis is often taught vaguely and inefficiently by coaches who lack proper education in biomechanics and movement. There is a reason many coaches only teach the two-handed backhand. Over time I have realised that many beginners simply want to hit the ball without first learning proper technique. That is fine, but without technique you will be inconsistent and frustrated. I still teach in a simple and enjoyable way, and I can adapt if you are losing focus, but I will not compromise on teaching correct fundamentals. You can still have strong rallies with me, but if you dislike the fact that I do not run excessively around the court or that my rallying balls may come slightly deeper due to my chosen forehand technique with a slightly open face forehand, from choice, as it is easier on the body, then I am not the right person for you.

If you are still reading, you have likely already noticed that my approach differs from mainstream tennis coaching. Traditional models are built around repeat business rather than genuine improvement, many coaches simply feed balls and offer vague advice. My method is different. Students improve immediately, within minutes, which is supported by years of consistent feedback. However,I have been insulted, called names, and even told I “cannot coach” by few students after giving a technical masterclass, as they had requested a technique improvement. These individuals are uncoachable. They cannot take on new information, overestimate their abilities, and become defensive when corrected. I usually brush and smile it off, but the entitlement and Self-righteousness can be remarkable. If I were actually incompetent, I would not be able to produce my coaching or rallying videos with such confidence and impressiveness. I intentionally use a modified technique during rallies because it is easier on the body, which some mistakenly interpret as a lack of ability.

I have had face to face conversations with a Grand Slam champion and with other professional players you have seen on television lift trophies. Some very much appreciated my insights; others did not. If you are curious, feel free to ask me about these experiences when we meet.

I only offer two hours lessons. Please read below and I explain why.

I DON'T OFFER A FREE 1 HOUR INTRODUCTORY LESSONS. I CAN'T CHANGE THIS SETTING ON MY PROFILE.

I will try to organise the lesson with you between 1–2 weeks, unless I am able to fit you in earlier.

If you're a expecting a tennis lesson like other tennis classes then I am not the right person for you. Please watch my youtube video of me coaching below so you get an idea of how I work. There is rallying, but a lot of the lesson is me teaching like this whilst drop feeding the ball to you.I will be guiding you and your racket through the movements, not myself, as It won't improve you.

I am a professional tennis coach and player who has had playing experience on the ITF pro tour circuit. I believe I've mastered the entirety of the tennis techniques involved, and have obtained huge expertise and experience in all aspects of the game. I've played for over 20 years and coached for over 5 years. As a very patient coach I do teach complete beginners up to professional players. Luckily I have been trained by some of the world’s best tennis, movement, and bio mechanic professors, as well a lot of additional input from myself.

I believe I have developed new coaching ideas that are far more effective that have never been done ever before by any coach in the world. I am very confident that you will see immediate improvement within minutes. This is for all players of all standards enabling them to improve their technique with every stroke. This includes the forehand, one handed backhand, two handed backhand, volley, slice, serve, kick serve, match play tips, mental game, plus the whole entirety of the game of tennis; saving you huge amounts of your money and time, speeding up the process.

I like to help my students get better in the shortest possible time. I can accomplish this by improving their technique quicker than anyone has ever done before. Lots of feedback from my students has confirmed this. I have been recommended and asked by other leading tennis ATP pro coaches to represent their clubs and clients.

I have taught many hundreds of students. As you can see from my video below of my teaching. I am an incredibly experienced coach.

I will try to organise the lesson with you between 1–2 weeks, unless I am able to fit you in earlier.

If you do not specifically request how you want the class to be for the first lesson for two hours, which is what I only recommend, because one hour is far too short for our first meeting, as there is far too much to cover regardless of your level, and you will never be tired, as once you get the technique it becomes very effortless, regardless of physical ability or age or injury,
then usually we will do anything between 25 minutes to 1 hour rallying/hitting practice within a 2 hour lesson. Do not be fooled into thinking that more rallying practice equals better improvement. It's actually the opposite for the first class. I hope this does address all your concerns. I have never had a student benefit more from an introductory one hour lesson than a two hour lesson. In the early days, when I used to do a one hour introductory lesson for students, in hindsight, they mostly commented that it would have been better to have had a longer lesson as they were in such great flow with putting the forehand and backhand together, and they were pushed for time during a one hour lesson!

Sometimes I get the feeling the student wants to control the lesson so I have to resort to more hitting to make them happy, but they are the ones who improve the least.
I have an extremely thorough, proven, time efficient and detailed technique based way of teaching. It does require concentration and commitment but you shouldn't find it boring. As I often say to students, the first lesson is sometimes the hardest , especially for the students with no sporting background, and then lessons from then on are very often much easier. Ironically mastering the shadow swings without hitting a ball is very important and improves your rallying a lot.

Rallying in itself will not help you. The old saying "practice makes perfect" is sadly not true. Correct practice will make it true.

I've been called out for eating during the lesson. For medical reasons I cannot help this. You may think it is a few minutes lost from the lesson but you will learn more in 10 minutes with me then you ever thought was possible. I've come to the conclusion from coaching, that some students don't really appreciate the technique and just want to hit the ball, which is fine if you tell me this is what you want from the class and I'm happy to accommodate, but not my preferred style of teaching.

I will intentionally not hit all the balls on one bounce if they are not hit back to me in a suitable position. To give you the best improvement and enjoyment in the shortest time possible I sometimes will conserve my energy. The majority of students I teach do not require me to play at a pro level, nor is it good for the body. Although I can play at a high level and can teach you exactly how the ATP strokes are done, I choose not to. I play myself with a hybrid technique which is still very effective and fun for all students to enjoy my play style.

What you'll receive during the lesson - I'll show you unit turn, grips, swing path, body weight transfer, ,racquet flip, contact point, finish, plus various other pointers. Usually with beginners I start the forehand sequence with no racquet, then we do the sequence again with the racquet. I'll then do gentle feeds on the court or against the tennis fence to save time picking up balls, focusing on technique for you to acquire the muscle memory of the strokes. After, we either do rally practising with what we’ve learnt, or go on to the backhand, depending on what you prefer. I teach it in a very safe way which is easy on the body, preventing injuries.

I am able to just be a hitting partner for you, but the best use of your time is to concentrate on technique at the start of the lesson, not just hitting balls. Many students don’t think this is necessary, especially if they have played before, and having been told by their previous coaches that they know the technique already. This is rarely the case. I have not met one student yet, who hasn’t benefitted from my teaching.

I’m very unique in the way that I teach. I am not like any other coach. I can guarantee you’ll learn crucial tips that you will not hear from anyone else that will rapidly improve your game. You'll take away information for you to understand and remember. I will pick up on the smallest details that need correcting. I believe this is a far more effective use of your time, and your improvement will increase massively. I understand at the end day students want to enjoy themselves, but it will be quite the opposite if you don’t get some essential technical points as you’ll be frustrated during what will likely to be short rallies. I will give you homework to do after the lesson, helping you to remember what you learnt.

Many students have a preconceived idea of how the class should be. I have found my method much more effective.
As soon as you gain confidence in the techniques you will begin to love the game of tennis more by being able to sustain a good rally. You will need fewer lessons, saving you a lot of your money and time. For instance, I can break down the entire tennis serve for a complete beginner and often get some students hitting serves with a few advanced professional tips and good technique. For example, combining a trophy pose serve position and pronation serve follow through within a two hour lesson. I thought this was impossible when I first started teaching, as many coaches might work on this over many months with students.

I don't like the fit of tennis trousers, so during the colder days I wear flexible jeans that are suitable for movement and tennis.

I’ve included a video of me coaching this summer as proof to demonstrate what I am talking about, I also have other videos of me hitting. You will learn to hit with effortless power as I always attempt to do.

I recommend more than one lesson if you’re serious on improving as there is a lot to cover.

If you’ve read my profile and we are a good fit, I will respond as soon as I can. I get superprof tennis message request notifications two to three days after you’ve sent me a message,Please be patient and I’ll respond around this time, unless I’ve seen the message beforehand.

I look forward to meeting you. You're welcome to get in touch with me.

Please read my terms -

I DON'T OFFER A FREE 1 HOUR INTRODUCTORY LESSONS. I CAN'T CHANGE THIS SETTING ON MY PROFILE.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT MONEY PAID TO SUPERPROF IS YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TO THEM. MY CHARGES ARE SEPERATE AND ARE IN ADDITION TO.

I do not teach juniors. Adults only.

I only offer two hours lessons. Please read below and I explain why.

I like meeting new people, I am friendly and try my best to help every student, but I do sometimes get the odd student who fails to benefit from my methods. Please read on if you think we'll be the right fit together.

During the first part of the class, I usually, but not always, teach technique. You will hit later on.

I do try my best to respond to your messages as soon as I can.

I use a bag of balls not a basket of balls. It's not necessary for me to take a basket of balls with the way I teach it, not to mention the difficulty carrying it on the tube.

I'm sometimes flexible on courts, but I often recommend some courts that are easier to book. Courts book up very quickly all year round, and some courts I recommend can be booked well in advance, saving both of us hassle and time. Depending on my schedule, I will not always be able to come to your courts. I usually just work weekends, and can not often do weekdays with short notice. We will be able to get something arranged as soon as I can if you can only do weekdays. Unless it is my last lesson of my working day, for me to travel to you and back to another tennis court for a subsequent lesson, will put me at a lose of two hours wages. I'm happy to help you when I can, but As I'm sure you can understand this isn't ideal, bearing in mind I'm not charging you for my travel cost and my time getting there. Plus, you are getting a lesson with exceptional value, that no one can and is able to replicate as efficiently as I can, saving you literally thousands of pounds, if not more, and your time.

If you are looking for a hitting coach who makes you feel good and has you thinking that you’re doing well rallying, you are in reality, highly unlikely to be improving. Technique must come first. I may not be the right coach for you if you don't agree with this statement.

If there is only a court available for one hour if booking a two hour lesson do not worry. Courts are really not necessary for the first part of the lesson for the first time that I meet you. There is almost always an appropriate feeding area to hit the ball outside the courts. You will get exactly the same value, improving with or without the court as we concentrate on technique.

It will be excellent If you can bring your own racquet to the class. Racquets I recommend to every student are Babolat racquets, especially the "Pure drive" model which are suitable for all playing abilities. I can bring a racquet for you, but I'd much prefer if you can bring your own. I'll bring balls.

I can offer students video analysis and Online lessons which are very effective.

I'll try to arrange a day with you when the weather is good. accuweather.com has been extremely reliable for me. If there is rain please bring a light rain jacket. I've only ever had to cancel a lesson once due to rain/thunderstorm in 5 years. The summer rain dries very quickly and is very often only showers. Winter can be less wet but is more often cold. There is usually a suitable area to shelter from rain where we can practice technique by the courts. My students still get great enjoyment when there is rain and learn the same, just that you'll be moving less.

My charges for one hour is 40 pounds person.

My charges for one hour for two people is 50 pounds. If you want to add more than 2 people, it's an additional 10 pounds per person for the hour.

It is your responsibility to book the courts at your cost. I can help you on what courts to book.

I work all over the London area and able to travel to you. Preferably nearer to central London. I'm flexible on days but I prefer weekends. Weekdays can work, but I do prefer to teach towards the end of the week but I am flexible. I'll try my best to accommodate you if you want a specific day and time.

If you do have any questions or problems related to the lesson, either before, during, or after, Please do let me know.

I will try to organise the lesson with you between 1–2 weeks, unless I am able to fit you in earlier.

If you’ve read my profile and we are a good fit, I will respond as soon as I can. I get superprof tennis message request notifications two to three days after you’ve sent me a message,Please be patient and I’ll respond around this time, unless I’ve seen the message beforehand.
