About Malin
I am a youth support worker with a passion for writing, communication, and persuasive argument. I graduated with high honours from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.A. in Linguistics and a minor in Philosophy, and have over three years of tutoring experience. I have lead workshops in both formal debate and Philosophy for elementary and high school students, and have experience writing essays and research papers for a variety of academic disciplines in addition to Linguistics and Philosophy, including History,Psychology, English Literature, and Gender Studies.

I teach high school and post-secondary students how to write better essays - that is, how to come up with better essay topics and theses, how to persuasively present and support an argument in an essay, and how to properly edit for grammar, tone, and clarity. I can also help with making proper citations and finding appropriate sources during research!
Don't get frustrated because you don't know what the teacher expects, or how to improve your grade. I can help with that! My goal is for my students to become more confident and independent, so I teach flexible strategies catered to each student that they can use on their own to get results.
A session with me typically involve a combination of brainstorming, guiding questions, practice using writing strategies, and co-operative editing, depending on student needs. I can help with specific assignments and with general writing skills.
