About Louis
Hi, I’m Louis! I’m a singer-songwriter, pianist, and American Idol finalist who’s been lucky enough to turn my passion for music into a career. Over the years, my songs have reached more than 10 million streams, and I’ve written for Disney, Netflix, Paramount Plus, and artists like Ben Ellis and Laila Mach. But beyond the milestones, what excites me most is helping people discover their own voice and creativity through music. I started writing songs as a teenager in my bedroom, using music to make sense of the world and express myself. That’s why I love teaching — I know firsthand how powerful and life-changing music can be. My teaching style is relaxed, encouraging, and fun. I believe anyone can learn to write songs, sing, or play piano if they have the right guidance and a safe space to explore. Whether you dream of writing for yourself, performing, or even pursuing music professionally, I’m here to help you take that next step. Outside of lessons, you’ll usually find me at the piano, in the studio working on new projects, or hanging with friends (and probably talking about music anyway!).

About My Lessons I’m Louis Knight — a singer-songwriter, pianist, and American Idol finalist with over 10 million streams worldwide. Alongside releasing my own music, I write for TV/film and other artists, with recent credits including Disney’s Zombies 4 (end credits song), as well as projects for Netflix, Paramount Plus, and MTV. I recently also co-wrote Ben Ellis’ song: ‘No One Sleeps In Hollywood’. My lessons are all about unlocking your creativity and making music fun. Whether you’re brand new to songwriting or already writing and looking to refine your craft, I’ll guide you through the process of creating songs that feel authentic to you. We’ll cover: • Songwriting fundamentals — melody, lyrics, chord progressions, and storytelling. • How to find your unique voice and write songs that stand out. • Practical tools for inspiration — how to overcome writer’s block and turn ideas into finished songs. • (Optional) a Piano & voice coaching to support your songwriting. • Real-world insights into music industry opportunities — writing for yourself, for other artists, or for TV/film. I keep lessons personalised and hands-on: instead of music theory overload, we’ll focus on writing, playing, and creating from day one. By the end of each session, you’ll walk away with new song ideas, tools, and confidence in your craft. Most importantly — my goal is to help you enjoy the process and fall in love with writing music.
