About Becca
Becca Webb earned her B.A. in Literature from Bard College and studied at Hertford College, Oxford. After a seven-year career in television development, she returned to school to earn her Master’s degree in American Literature at The University of Chicago.
Becca has worked at Bard College’s Writing Center as a Writing Fellow, for Varsity Tutors as an English and College Essay Tutor, for The University of Chicago’s writing program as a Lector, and at the Community Colleges of Chicago as a Writing and English Tutor, helping hundreds of students from high school freshmen to Master’s candidates find success.
She spent three years as a Lead Writing Coach and Content Writer at Admission Ignition, where she worked with students from middle school to post-graduate. A core tenet of the work was College Essays, and Becca has helped students nationwide get into institutions like The University of Chicago, The University of Michigan, The University of Florida, Cornell University, Babson University, MIT, SMU, UM, UT Austin, Tulane, Wake Forest, and more.
Here is some feedback from a former student: " I highly recommend working with Admission Ignition to get through the stressful time of writing college essays. I worked with Becca, who truly helped me improve my writing skills. She understood exactly what I wanted to say and was able to help me formulate sentences that perfectly conveyed my thoughts. Becca is someone who only wants the best for the students she works with and is very supportive. I don’t know how I would’ve managed to write all my essays in such an organized manner without Becca's help."

I like to meet my students where they are and to talk to them like people! Being human to human makes a big difference.
My methodology comes from writing centers and three years as a writing coach, where I created all our Toolkits and resources from scratch.
I am especially skilled in helping high school and college students with college application essays. I have been trained in the College Essay Guy courses and have created some of my own frameworks, which have helped students get into their dream schools.
My writing center experience helps me reach higher-level learners, while my two years working one-on-one with an 8th grader has helped me get on that level as well.
