About Teigist

Hello! My name is Tiggy, and I recently graduated from Yale University after pursuing a BA in Anthropology. Before Yale, I attended high-school at a British International School in Kenya, where I received 2A* and 2A at A Levels, and 8A* 1A and 1B at IGCSE. I also received the top score in Kenya for A-Level Biology and IGCSE English Literature. I tutored high school students all throughout my time at college, and developed a keen understanding of how to get difficult concepts across to students with a variety of learning styles. My former students have gone on to surpass their own expectations and get excellent grades in standardised exams. I believe what sets my method apart is the time I take during the onboarding process to really get to know new students-- understanding everything from their problem areas and learning preferences to their personalities and natural interests to develop a highly personalised tutoring plan. Furthermore, I have acute experience with attention difficulties and I know how to work with students struggling with their focus to make a plan that will (finally!) stick. I have studied with and from some of the most brilliant minds in the world, and I am excited to share that knowledge with you! Does this sound like something you or your child would be interested in? Let's have a chat! University : - Yale University - BA Anthropology [1st] School : Hillcrest International School A Levels - Biology [A*] - Physics [A*] - Maths [A] - Drama [A] Hillcrest International School GCSEs - Chemistry [A*] - Biology [A*] - Business Studies [A*] - Drama [A*] - French [A*] - English Language [A*] - English Literature [A*] - Art [A] - ICT [B] Prizes and Scholarships : International Achievers International Award (Presented by the University of Ottawa) Other Qualifications : Volunteered for over 2 years teaching Health Education at underfunded high schools around Connecticut.

I worked alongside Teigist as an after-school tutor for two years, and I couldn't recommend her more highly! I have seen firsthand the strong results her students produce through her tutoring. One student who was struggling in her math class, after just 3 sessions with Teigist, proudly scored 97% on her next test. I witnessed Teigist work with another student who had been struggling to write a paper; after one session, she had boosted his confidence and showed him how to write a full outline. The key to Teigist's success is that she really cares about each and every one of her students. Once she gets to know her students she shapes her teaching style and methodology to their individual needs.

Teigist taught my sister in preparation for her English literature iGCSE. She was incredibly patient and always came prepared with new kinds of content, making the lessons fun and dynamic. My sister was really struggling with the subject and she made it digestible for her.
