About Sarah
I'm a 17-year-old college student with experience working with students from kindergarten through 8th grade across 3 different schools. I enjoy helping students learn in a calm, supportive, and patient environment where they can feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.
I have experience helping students with reading comprehension, writing, spelling, literacy worksheets, and homework support. I have also worked one-on-one with an 8th-grade student on reading and history assignments. I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to explain things clearly, patiently, and in a way that feels less stressful and more approachable.
I'm kind, easy to talk to, and understanding with students. I speak calmly and clearly, and I'm always willing to repeat something if needed. My goal is to help students build confidence while improving their reading, writing, and overall understanding.

During lessons, I help students with reading comprehension, spelling, writing activities, literacy worksheets, and homework support. I adapt lessons based on each student's level and learning style. Sometimes this includes practicing reading aloud, improving understanding of stories and tone, or working through worksheets together step by step.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patience, reading experience, and ability to help students understand emotions, tone, and meaning in writing. I also have 2 years of experience helping students in after-school programs, along with helping my younger sibling with literacy practice and reading skills.
My lessons are mainly for elementary and middle school students who need support in reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension in schoolwork.
