About Sofia
"Watching a student nail a difficult blues progression for the first time is why I teach. We sit down and break complex electric techniques into manageable, logical segments that make sense for your current ability. I emphasise music theory and improvisation as core pillars for every session. You will learn to navigate the fretboard with ease and purpose.
My background in vocal performance informs how I view phrasing and musicality on the guitar. It is essential. Whether you are a kid just starting or a grade exam candidate, I focus on building your independence.
I find real joy in seeing your songwriting develop as you learn these new methods. We will work to ensure your practice sessions remain productive and consistently engaging."

"I work frequently with self-taught players who feel stuck. Technical clarity is vital for improvement. My training at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire serves as the foundation for my approach to electric technique and complex fingerpicking. After 13 years of performing and teaching 165 students, I have cultivated a deep appreciation for the blues progressions and songwriting craft.
I guide pupils through music theory with a focus on improvisation and soloing skills. Watching a student gain confidence on the fretboard is the most rewarding part of my work."
