About Kiana
The soft resonance of a well-tuned piano remains the anchor of my 13 years spent refining technique for students of all abilities. Having earned my Doctor of Musical Arts from Yale School of Music, I utilize a pedigree rooted in strict pedagogical discipline to ensure every pupil builds a foundation based on audiation. My approach integrates comprehensive training in rhythm, sight playing, and music theory alongside essential memorization techniques.
Whether we focus on ABRSM exam preparation or exploring the creative freedom of jazz improvisation, I ensure that posture and hand independence become second nature. I am the mentor who helps you hear the music before your fingers touch the keys.

Actually, developing inner hearing is quite transformative because it turns reading notes into true musical communication. My 8-year approach to these 60-minute sessions relies on the methodical rigor I developed during my doctoral studies to balance technical drills with artistic expression.
We concentrate heavily on scales, arpeggios, and ear training to solidify your command over the instrument. Because we incorporate pieces you actually want to play, the hard work of mastering Czerny feels balanced by the joy of personal discovery. You will find that our time together is both technically demanding and genuinely satisfying.
