About Carmela
Technique is often secondary to the groove I instill in my students. A guitar is only as good as the rhythm behind the player. I bring 13 years of experience to every session to help you master improvisation and reading sheet music.
Over the 367 students I have taught, I have learned that clarity is essential for self-taught players. My Berklee degree ensures that I understand the mechanics of scales and modes perfectly. I am a Puerto Rican son coach who values the tradition of the instrument above all else. Success comes from consistent practice.

Practice feels like a conversation between two musicians when we start our sessions. I explain complex chord transitions and lead guitar concepts using the same logic I used during my studies.
You will find that my knowledge of power chords and maintenance keeps your instrument in top shape. I provide a practice module with every lesson to keep your momentum steady and your progress measurable. Do you struggle with strumming patterns? I offer clear guidance to fix those issues, often drawing on my background to show how bolero rhythms translate to modern playing.
We can tackle sight reading or simple maintenance tasks to ensure you feel comfortable with your gear. Just bring your guitar and a willingness to explore the fretboard.
